Hello,

I had exactly the same problem. I sent them an email, but the tech support guydidn't believe me and pretended that the registration worked perfectly fine by using only the keyboard. After days of failure, I asked someone with functioning eyes to paste that code with the mouse. It took less than a second. Maybe if more people wrote and told them about this problem... who knows.

Best regards,

moderated Re: Question about typing Spanish on a document

Shan,

Did you, by any chance, use voice dictation on that last message.  It reads "ship in the control key," which I take to mean SHIFT and the CTRL, but I'm wondering if you actually meant SHIFT+ALT?

WinKey+Spacebar appears to be the default, see:  https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-your-keyboard-layout-windows-10 and is the option documented on the keyboard shortcuts page for Windows 10:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12445/windows-keyboard-shortcuts
It also seems that SHIFT+ALT will work, see:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-desktop/windows-10-keyboard-switch-language/f6473ac0-2006-4a51-aabe-124f4f1b3507

You can, of course, change the default, though and you have to have more than one language defined for the system to allow switching.  I just haven't been able to find SHIFT+CTRL documented as an alternative.

moderated New NoScript add-on layout with Firefox 60

Cristóbal

Hello list,

So, I’ve been playing with Firefox 60 and the latest JFW 2018put out this month. And I’m noticing that with the NoScript extension, now instead of the various options to disable or enable the different scripts and whatnot on pages, NoScript now presents you with a webpage with checkboxes instead of the context menu where you can arrow into the submenu with the different listed scripts.

I’m finding the new layout to be more tedious and not as easy to get around and was wondering if there was a way to get the old context submenu layout back or if this is how it is now? I poked around in the NoScript options and didn’t find anything that jumped out to get the old layout back.

Thanks,

Cristobal

moderated Re: How can I enter a vertical tab in a search box?

Bill White <billwhite92701@...>

Hi, Tim. The character code for a Vertical Tab is decimal code 11. Since this is Control K, and Control K is a command in Word, you cannot enter it this way.

Instead, open the Search and Replace with CONTROL plus H.

Then, in the Find What dialog, enter ^11

The Karat is the shift of number six on the numbers row below the function keys.

Then, Tab to the Replace All button, and press ENTER.

All the replacements will be made, and all the Vertical Tabs will be removed.

Press the Escape Key twice, save the document, and all the Vertical Tabs should be gone.

I'll try to answer in context below:

Margins all round = 1 inch
At the top of your document, hit alt then p and the first item should be margins. Hit enter and tab through your choices. 1 inch should be one of the options, if not, select customize and make them all 1 inch.

Single line spacing

I'm not 100% sure on this one, but I believe if you select the entire document and hit control+1 it will make it single line spacing. The problem I have is that Word wants to default to some spacing after paragraphs. If you again hit alt then p and then tab until you hear spacing before and spacing after, you can check those.

Font size 12
Font in Times New Roman

Hit control+a to select the entire document, then hit the application key or shift+f10 and arrow up or down to font and hit enter.
You will be in a list and if you hit the letter t and then arrow down you should find Times New Roman, then tab to style, which should be regular, tab once more to size and either enter 12, or arrow down to 12 and hit enter.

I hope that helps,
Richard

Sharon, when in word, press insert+v, search for paragraph, you should
get announce paragraph and line markers, and press spacebar until you
get to off. either tab to and enter on the ok button, or just press
enter and enter again.
