It’s still loses focus like prior versions. Also it crashes with office 365 more than 2020. Overall pretty stable some nice new features but lingering issues remain.

I sent something into the beta feedback, but now don't recall exactly what that was, so it must not have been huge. I'm hoping FS gets their web site troubles sorted out and we get another beta before they decide to release the full version. At least, I assume the hold-up is the web site problems. Is Google Meet easier on Windows or iPhone?
Van Lant, Robin
My daughter’s teacher wants to try using Google Meets for her parent-teacher conferences. Anyone have advice on whether this is easier to use on Windows with JAWS or on my iphone? I don’t have any Google apps on my phone and don’t know if I would need to install one. I do have Google Chrome installed on my Windows 10 laptop

Re: podcast apps
Hi, there are a few buttons that aren’t labeled but if you’ll use the tab key you’ll find the search field to search for podcast. Type in the name and hit enter. Give it a few seconds and use tab to locate the results. Hit enter on the podcast, then with tab key once more you’ll find a subscribe button. After that again using tab, you should find a list of episodes. Enter on the episode. If it doesn’t start playing right away, tab till you find the play button. Just ignore the buttons that aren’t labeled. HTH, StanB

Addison, There are several ways. On the fly, I like to select the text I want to adjust then hit control period. You’ll hear JAWS announce the font size in increments each time you hit that key combination. You can also hit Control D to open a font dialog box to adjust all sorts of aspects or type in a font size.

Re: Question About Excel
Ali Ismail <haydaraliismail90@...>
I seem to have the same problem.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I normally use excel for a glossary of terms. As I am a university student, numerous terms that I have to deal with are new to me. Therefore, I have an excel work sheet divided into four columns. In the first Colum, I have a word that requires a definition, in the second Columb I have the type of word i.e. verb, noun, adjective, or adverb; then, in the third Columb I have the definition, and finally, in the 4th Columb I have an example of the word applied in a sentence. I have often observed that when I am using f2 for a cell within the first column, I can comfortably use my left and right arrows to check the spelling of a particular word. However, if I go to my third or fourth Columb, which constitutes of multiple words, I am unable to use jaws to navigate within the cell. This is really strange, and I have not found a solution to this problem. I have also tried the suggestion mentioned below with regards to unchecking the 'allow editing directly in cells' box, but it seems to be unsuccessful on my end. If someone has a solution of this, I, likewise, will be very grateful. Below are the specs of my computer: Lenovo ThinkPad laptop with windows 10 running on it. Jaws version 18. Re: OEClassic problem reading folder and message lists
Mike B
Hi Phil,
Try these settings to make your folder navigation a little better with OE Classic. 1. Press, Alt + T, for Tools and press the letter, O, for options then on the General tab, uncheck always Show the Send & Receive window, tab to, Apply, press the spacebar, and tab to get to the list of options. When you get to, General down arrow to, Layout. 2. On the layout tab, tab to, Position Email combobox and put this on Hidden. Tab 1 time to, Show header and you want this checked. Tab 1 time to, Position News combobox and again choose, Hidden. Tab 1 time to, Show header and uncheck this checkbox. Tab to, Okay, and press enter to save / close. Note: On the layout Tab, I don't have, Contacts checked, but I do have Folder Bar, Folder List, Tool Bar and Status Bar checked. I'll tell y'all this folder list reading sucks, but you can only try to make it better and experimentation is a must. Take care and stay safe. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go dodgers & Rams! I have installed the OEClassic free version and
everything seems to work fine except that my Jaws2020 will not focus on or
read/speak the folderlist or message list. Also, I have not determined what key
command such as TAB or Enter is used to open or close a folder.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong,
please?

Re: braille display with jaws

I will remember that next time if there is a next time, lol! I had to wait a little over a week to return the device and I did go through the process of exercising the pins and didn't help. You would have thought this would have been caught at the company before it was sent out but of course it was only a dot 1 in only one cell. I have noticed that sometimes dots stay up when shutting down the device and I have to turn it back on and shut it down again to make the dots drop. I wish I could use my alva model abt80 that's 23 years old but it is no longer supported by jaws.

Re: A Question About JAWS Accessibility
Michael Mote
The remote add-on is available on the home use JAWS license but not the annual subscription. I just wanted to add that. I have users using both the pro and home use licenses with Citrix and the VDI set-up. It does work well. I would highly recommend that you use the VDI in full screen mode, so you can use JAWS just like you do on your local desktop.

I use jaws with Citrix VDI on a daily basis.
First you need to purchase the jaws remote desktop license. Now what I am not sure of is if this license is available for the home edition or if it is only available with the pro version. VFO sales would need to confirm.
Once the license is installed then the remote server will need to have jaws installed. This install does not need a license and is a free install. Once you connect to the VDI, your client license will be used. And on the VDI, jaws needs to be running.
In the jaws help, there are a list of commands that can be used.
Thanks, Abraham

Re: A Question About JAWS Accessibility
Abraham Sweiss
Hello Lynn,
I use jaws with Citrix Virtual Desktop (VDI ) and Microsoft Remote Desktop (RDP) on a regular basis.
First thing that needs to be done is to contact VFO sales and purchase the remote desktop license. What I am not sure of is if this license is available on the home edition or if the pro version of jaws is required. VFO sales will need to confirm.
Once the license is installed on your version of jaws (client) then jaws will need to be installed on the remote desktops. The jaws version on the remote desktop does not need a license and is a free install. Once the client connects to the server, the clients license will be used. I mention this so that when this topic is brought up to potential employers they will understand that this will not be an added cost on the server side.
jaws help has a list of the commands that are used for both VDI and RDP setups.
However what I do for VDI is after I connect, I use the key combination of control plus shift plus F1. This makes the VDI screen take over your desktop and now you can use the jaws commands you would normally use on your own desktop and not have to learn the new key combinations for VDI. For RDP the key combination is control plus alt plus either insert or page up. And use the same key combinations to get back to your own desktop.
One got-cha is sometimes the caps lock gets stuck and it can take several attempts or a reboot to get it to turn off. VFO support has not been of any help to address this issue.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Abraham
