For those who like these kinds of things, here's an HTML table with the recently posted Skype 8 shortcut key commands. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hbeawdod8bbf83z/Skype%208%20Commands.html?dl=1

Re: Skype eight (8) commands..

Not too unusual for the same keyboard shortcut to start and end a call, they just need to say so. After all, on an iPhone the “Answer” button becomes the “End Call” button after you answer a call and on a regular old telephone picking up the receiver answers and putting it back down ends the call, essentially the same idea of a toggle.

Hi Kevin,

If you want nothing said instead of blank in all applications try the following:

1. Open the Settings Center, press, control, shift, + D, to open Settings
Center default all applications.
2. Arrow down to, punctuation closed..., right arrow to open, down arrow to,
customize punctuation...., & press the spacebar to open.  Make sure you
press the spacebar to open & not enter. Pressing enter will close the
Settings Center.
3. Tab to the Advanced button & press spacebar to open.  The first item in
the list will be, blank, so tab 1 time to, edit description.... button, &
press the spacebar to open.  The word, blank, will be in this edit field.
Delete the word, blank, put a space with the spacebar, & press enter.
4. Tab to okay, press the spacebar, tab to okay, press the spacebar, tab to
apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay, press the spacebar to save your
changes & close the Settings Center.

If you don't want this in all applications, open the desired applications
individually & use the above steps in each application.  HTH
Take care.

I think the yahoos who wrote up the commands thought Starting A Call was a clear statement.  Obviously it isn’t.  But, in fact, it not only means to start/make a call, but to answer a call.

I suppose one could interpret Start as Answer, but not anyone I know.

Hi there! Press Alt plus F and then the letter T for options. On the general tab, you should see check boxes for individual formatting options like space and paragraph markers. There is also a check box that says show all formatting marks. Make sure this box is unchecked. Hope this helps!

Hi there! Press Alt plus F and then the letter T for options. On the general tab, you should see check boxes for individual formatting options like space and paragraph markers. There is also a check box that says show all formatting marks. Make sure this box is unchecked. Hope this helps!

Yes, Jaws works correctly after reloading.  Actually, I unload Jaws, activate NVDA, which has no problem, and I believe Jaws works correctly when I reload.  I will pay more attention when it happens again.

I believe the screen is maximized, but I will check to make sure the next time the problem pops up.

Recently, I have had Jaws stop speaking by word or letter when using the control arrow and arrow.  This has happened in MS word and outlook when composing an email.  Even when arrowing up and down Jaws speaks sparingly.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?  I am using the latest Jaws 2018 and office 365.

NVDA reads these documents correctly.

Hi listers:

Recently, I’ve been getting Windows 10 notifications from Mail and other thigs which, when I press the dismiss notification button, seem to still be there.

Not sure if they disappear from the screen, but, to JAWS, they seem to be there and I have found no way to get rid of them, other than to turn off notifications.

I usually hear them again after exiting some other program and focus seems to go to the notification.  There is nothing I can do, other then reboot or sign out and back in to get rid of the notification. When the buttons are there, they seem to do almost nothing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I like Doug Lee's sense of humor.
Someone had stated on this list that Skype for Windows 10 had no hotkeys, but the Microsoft page gives hotkeys for Skype for Windows 10, Skype version 8 and version 7.  I know 7 is retiring, but it would appear that Microsoft has retained the bulk of the Windows hotkeys for Skype for Windows 10.

Is that what Doug Lee is referring to with the Native Skype UWP Keyboard Shortcuts?
I know the U is for Universal.
I'm new to Skype on Windows and am mainly trying to learn it for a client, but might start using it myself from time to time.

Thanks again for your help,

Jaws will focus on Skype 8 and an initial release of scripts will come in an August update, possible a later in August update, then more improvements will be made in Jaws 2019.

No, not from FS, but Doug Lee has Skype 8 scripts on his
            site,

Jaws will focus on Skype 8 and an initial release of
scripts will come in an August update, possible a later
in August update, then more improvements will be made in
            Jaws 2019.
You can read more in Jonathan Mosen's article about the
            retirement of Skype 7.4:

            I am on Skype 8.
When I check the scripts that are loaded it says "Google
            Chrome Settings, Skype.exe."
Are there no scripts yet for Skype 8?
