Hey guys,

OK, on this new laptop o just installed office 365. So i got it installed and am trying to open a word doc. Jaws 2018 doesn't appear to be too happy. So i opened the file, it kept saying office unlicensed product, and wanted my email, that i use for my account.
It didn't ask me for a password.
So then after several re-focuses i was able to focus on the document.
It seems to be skipping over lines, and keeps saying unlicensed product. Any ideas?

Thanks Sieghard. Hopefully I wasn't the only one who wasn't aware of that.
Given Microsoft's commitment to accessibility, I suspect that will work well and especially since they have already listed the hotkeys.
Thanks,
Richard

Thanks so much Sieghard.
I like Doug Lee's sense of humor.
Someone had stated on this list that Skype for Windows 10 had no hotkeys, but the Microsoft page gives hotkeys for Skype for Windows 10, Skype version 8 and version 7.  I know 7 is retiring, but it would appear that Microsoft has retained the bulk of the Windows hotkeys for Skype for Windows 10.

Is that what Doug Lee is referring to with the Native Skype UWP Keyboard Shortcuts?
I know the U is for Universal.
I'm new to Skype on Windows and am mainly trying to learn it for a client, but might start using it myself from time to time.

Thanks again for your help,
Richard

No, not from FS, but Doug Lee has Skype 8 scripts on his site, https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=www.dlee.org&data=02%7C01%7C%7C434897dad1a14312146608d5ef1b0249%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636677821626323308&sdata=ysLiYVAjdth01DCVd%2Fmsm49poWBQaJiMQBaswlK0rFI%3D&reserved=0.
Jaws will focus on Skype 8 and an initial release of scripts will come in an August update, possible a later in August update, then more improvements will be made in Jaws 2019.
You can read more in Jonathan Mosen's article about the retirement of Skype 7.4:

Re: Program to strip DRM?

Richard Turner

Removing DRM from anything other than files you have purchased and are doing this to make them more accessible for your own use, is technically illegal.
I only know of one package that works on Kindle books that I use so I can read them in Voice Dream Reader.
What are you wanting to do?

Hi,

Depends. I need to test it more with various screen readers I have. The version I’m eluding to is being tested by only a select few, and once it hits the air, it’ll have massive impact (talk to me privately if you want more info).

Cheers,

I’ve been on this list for about 8 months

My question is how long do I have to be on this new member list where each message is approved by the moderators?

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Skype isn't going away, they are just retiring older versions.

I believe the note that was sent specified Skype version 7.4.

Program to strip DRM?

Amanda Berkley

Is there a JAWS friendly program that can strip the DRM off a file?

Not sure if this is an appropriate question for this list. I apologize
if it's not.

Thanks,
Amanda

James,

You might want to consider adding something like, "Your posts will be on moderated status until you have made 4 posts," and explaining why in the welcome message.  This policy is a good idea but I can understand why someone with little experience with e-mailing lists and/or online forums with initial moderation settings would not really suspect this to be the case.

You’ve only been on this list since April 13, per your account history. You’ve posted twice to the list since that time prior to yesterday. You left and rejoined, and have had a couple posts approved since then. The site automatically removes you from new member moderation after 4, to prevent some unfortunate fool from immediately subscribing to the list and trying to blast us with the spam hose (this has happened).

I am not really a new member.

I unsubscribed and then subscribed to try and fix my name display.

I found out it didn’t help, so I loged in and fixed my name display.

I’ve been on this list for about 8 months

My question is how long do I have to be on this new member list where each message is approved by the moderators?

Thank you for your attention in this matter.
