Hi. OK, I did a reinstall. How do I use the plugin for Nullsoft Signal Processing Studio DSP v0.39b?

Can you tell me how to turn it on and off so I can get effects sometimes, and not at other times?

Thank you.

Bill,

Sorry, I misread what you'd said as meaning that you'd used Audacity under Linux.

In any case, yes, it can do it.  It's the "Reverse" item under the Effects menu.

hi, thanks for the reply. yeah the problem I'm having is watching dvd's without the thing being plugged in some window pops up telling monitor has to be plugged because of copy protection yadah yadah yadah.
it happens with power dvd too.
isn't there a setting in windows where you can have no monitor... can't remember where in the control panel that option is.
about jaws and monitor drivers or video drivers you can see a jaws driver in the device manager settings. under video cards I may be wrong.

Hi,

I rarely turn on or plug in my monitor. The only time I use my monitor is when I am repairing or working on a computer that won’t boot up its’ operating system or when someone is looking over my shoulder at the screen. When my monitor is on I have a tendency of trying to follow the cursor as it moves across the screen and that gives me a tremendous headache. It is a bad habit and I can’t seem to stop it so I keep the screen turned off until required to turn it on.

To answer the second question, JAWS intercepts the video signal before it gets to the monitor. I am pretty sure I’m correct on this, but open for correction.

hello, just wondering if there is a way of watching copy protected dvd's without having to plug in the monitor.
isn't jaws somehow linked to the video card driver to protect it being copied?
I wonder how many on this list actually have their monitors plugged in.

Hello everyone. Last week, I was playing with my Braille Display connected
to Jaws on my Laptop. Due to some problems with the cord, I returned the
cord and bought a new one. This morning, when I connected the cord
everything worked and I could see things happening on my Braille Display.
During this process, a problem occured as only few symbols at the left end
of my display are displayed when I use it with Jaws. Last week it worked
perfectly and I had no problems. Additionally, as I played around with it I
changed some settings. On Tuesday, I need it at school. Can someone please
suggest a solution of making it return to its normal operation some I could
see all the controls and easily move to them. Please and thank you. Any help
is appreciated. Thanks once again.
Cheers,
Owais

Hi HTH  The reason why I didn’t installed jaws 2018  because the man who repairs and computer programmer and computer technology was trying to repaired jaws 18 and I told him that my sister give me a package from FS so she opened it and say it was jaws 2018 disc so he looked at it and say leave that alone for while that was last year in November!! See I don’t know how FS mailed the jaws 2018  tomy sister and FS didn’t tell me about it in email or called me.

Dear, in about two weaks time the first public beta of JAWS 2019 will be out.

Final version of JAWS 2019 will be out in the last weak of October 2018.

Why didn’t you installed JAWS 2018?

In my humble opinion, JAWS has launched a very nice feature called screen shade in JAWS 2018!

I have a question about Audacity. When I used to use Linux, they had an effect that allowed you to play a song backwards. Do you know if Audacity is able to do this, or if there is an AddOn that allows for this? Right now, I use Total Recorder, and, as far as I know, it doesn’t allow for playing a song backwards.

Subject: Re: audacity and jaws

Audacity is as easy to use as any complex software can be with JAWS.  It seems to be the audio editor of choice for many screen reader users.

And, yes, there is a built-in filter that allows you to slow down music without the pitch changing.  I had to do that for someone I was helping to put together the music and other audio for a dressage routine.

Re: Practice Online Forms

HH,

Have you ever practiced, or helped someone practice with that CareerPoint form?   I ask because I began using it with my client and large parts of it are inaccessible, at least by any method I know of.  You cannot get the prompts to read for any of the answers that must be entered using Yes/No radio button pairs or multi-box checkbox lists for starters.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm somehow missing something or if no one can get to the information via JAWS.

By the way to everyone reading, I'd still love to have suggestions for online forms that one could use for practice.  The intention is not to ultimately submit them, so it can be pretty much anything that allows for practicing with the web objects that are commonly used for online forms.
