I'm not sure what you mean about Rotor keystrokes. The
only rotor navigation I'm aware of is on an iPhone. Have you tried using
the Touch cursor?

Subject: A website question which may involve Jaws focus 4:20 AM 10/23/2020
Hi everyone,
I have a website-based question; I am using Windows 10 and Jaws 2020.
I am the primary admin for a Eucharistic adoration ministry in my parish, and that ministry uses a web-based application called We Adore Him to control adorer scheduling. I have successfully used the software since August 2018 and, after being shut down by COVID-19 since mid-March, we are preparing to open the chapel again. As a result, I have been assisting adorers to choose an hour in the weekly calendar. All went well until Wednesday, October 21, when the weekly calendar suddenly would not display when I arrowed to it; it now displays the hour at midnight, tells me that one slot is available, and when I arrow down in order to go to a particular hour of the day, I am at the bottom of the screen.
I am using the Jaws cursor which appears for all websites, and I have checked to be sure that my screen is maximized and in full-screen mode in Chrome. A sighted tech-savvy friend has assisted me via Zoom and screen-share, and she tells me that the full schedule, showing adorers signed up for this or that hour--is showing on the screen. I have contacted On Fire Media to ask them if they have been testing and that might be the reason for my issue, but they have not. They are aware of Jaws and have a demo copy to use. I can navigate the screen in My Dashboard if I want to update the settings in my account, but whenever I choose "Schedule", choose the particular week, I only see the first entry.
I honestly don't know if this is a Jaws focus issue or something entirely different. Can you please remind me of the keystrokes for the rotor which a user can look at in the case of a focus issue? Or, alternatively, do you have other suggestions?
I have tried everything I can think of.
Thank you for any ideas or suggestions,
Greg Daniel

When my speakers blew on my laptop. I looked into getting a Blue Tooth speaker. The salesman talked me out of it stating, “Every time you start or restart the laptop you have to pair the speaker with the laptop all over again. It should automatically pair, but it doesn’t.” I do have blue tooth headphones paired with my iPhone and loved the fact that when it was warmer and we could water the grass, I could leave my iPhone in the lawn chair and, while still chatting with someone, could move the hose with no dropped call.

Hi, It is harder to connect some blue tooth headphones with laptops than a phone. Try having your laptop search for devices under the blue tooth setting. Sometimes the headphones are discovered under a weird name. You may need to try the search a couple of times . Try turning off and then on the blue tooth settings on your laptop to see if this initiates a new search. I have also found that Bluetooth headphones, depending on brand, are not as reliable as with a phone.

Hi, I’ve used Bluetooth earphones with my iPhone, but not with a laptop the headphone jack on my work laptop seems to be not working. I’m not finding any plug in earbuds or headphoens in my house that will work so I can hear JAWS. I thought I could try pairing the earpiece I use with my iPhone. I turned off the Bluetooth connection on my iPhone and turned on Bleutooth in the laptop; however, I don’t see the earpiece showing up in the list, even though my earpiece is in pairing mode. Am I going about this the correct way? Should a basic, Bluetooth earpiece that works with an iPhone also work with a laptop or is there a difference? I think this is a Plantronics earpiece, but I’m not positive. It’s possible my company has some security restriction on Bluetooth, but I dread calling our helpdesk to ask.

Considering that the accessibility of the next door app changed with the latest update. I feel certain in assuming that this is possible with the website as well. The next door app is updated weekly or bi-weekly. So hopefully, accessibility for the website & the app will be fixed soon. i've been using the next door app for 2 years. There has been only 3 times, in which accessibility was slightly broken. Donna

Re: Creating a group in outlook
Andrew J. LaPointe
Hi All, just in case you haven't done this yet, what I did for a
group list is open word and on each line, insert an email address hit enter then add another email from the group you want to send messages to until you have inserted all the email addresses for your group, organization or company ect. Save it in word and name it for that group. I same mine on the desk top. When I need to send to the group, I open the word file then select each line and copy it to the clipboard. When I create a new message, I paste all the list to (to) field. Then tab to the subject and finally, create the body of the message. I don't know if that would be easier for you but, creating a group and adding email addresses is not working for me. Hope this helps some of you. Andy and Shubert R.I.P Andrew J. I don’t know how to turn on notifications in Google Chrome. From what I have read, it sounds to me like when you turn on notifications in Google chrome you get notifications from other web sites, which I don’t want to do. Am I right or am I wrong? If you can tell me how to turn on notifications in Google Chrome I would appreciate it.

outlook 2019 with jaws 2019: jaws is not reading right order in messageview
William Windels
Hello,
In outlook 2019 , I have changed the order of the fields on the screen so that category comes in the beginning. Jaws is not reading the value of the category as first while it’s presented as first on the screen.
I changed it as follows:
menu: view > curent view > view settings > columns... button and then: 6 times tab = show columns in this order There I changed the order like I wanted.
The maximum of lines in the compact view is set to the minimum = 2.
I looked in the outlook.jcf file and ofcourse the default.jcf file and Jawskey+v but I can’t find some setting to chagen.
What can I do more or is this not possible?
thx a lot for help William Windels

Re: Making a copy of Google slides presentation to a different folder Google drive
I can try to figure this out, if necessary, but I will ask first if you have considered installing Backup & Sync from Google? This allows you to have your Google Drive contents on your desktop, in a folder that looks and acts like any other folder under Windows 10, except that it syncs with your Google Drive. It can make managing this sort of thing a bit easier than the web interface does (and I'm not a huge fan of Google Drive's web interface for file management, and I can see all of it).

Making a copy of Google slides presentation to a different folder Google drive
Shai
Hello,
I'd like to make a copy of a Google Slides presentation to another folder in Google Drive. At the moment, the slide is in a shared folder and I need to move it to a different folder within my drive so that I can share it with others. How do I do this accessibly with JAWS2020 and Google Chrome? When I select the change folder button, JAWS just states dialogue and does not allow me to choose a folder despite my having created the folder I would like the slide to go to in drive. I have tried doing this with the virtual cursor off but still the result is the same. I have also tried with the touch cursor. Thank you in advance for any responses. -- Shai Wolman Wolman technologies (619)894-6587 Providing training to children and adults that empowers them to be productive and successful with their assistive technology/computing tasks. atvistech@gmail.com

Re: Outlook Addressbook
My guess is that this is controlled by which account is set as your primary/default account if you have multiple accounts set up in Outlook.
Try ALT+F,I,S,A (File Tab, Account Info, Account Settings dropdown, Account settings item). At this point the account settings dialog will appear, and I'm going to presume you're familiar with it. Take a cruise through the account list and see if the one currently set as default is that Exchange account. If you then change the default account to Gmail it's likely to use the repositories associated with that as "first port of call." -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Hello,
I am running Win. 10 with Office 365 and JFW 2020. My Outlook keeps using the MS Exchange account for pulling up my University email addressbook.
How do I default to Gmail as a server and to download address books from my Gmail accounts?
Thank you,

I already posted them, but I’d also check out Brian Vogel’s link. What I do after creating the group name, is press alt+h, then m. That activates the add members. Unlike others, I have little success arrowing up and down through the list of contacts, but you can search for contacts and add them. I’m sure results will vary as not everyone has the same outlook configuration.

Yes Brian, I agree with you. I’ve tried using your keystrokes and I just get the default beep after alt+h. I’m using Office 365 Outlook 2016 and after creating the name of the group, after alt+h no matter what letter I press, I get the sound that says “sorry, you cannot do that,” i.e. the default beep.
I must have something set up oddly, which will not surprise me. I have to just tap the alt key and arrow or tab to get to the add members button, which gives the shortcut you list, but I cannot do it just using the keys… Very odd. I’m fine with the way I do it as it works, it ends up just being different.
