Re: Firefox Alerts - How to Gain Focus?

Bill White <billwhite92701@...>

Hi, Brian. The alert only lasts for about five seconds. After that, there is no way to get to the alert. Unfortunately, you must listen carefully to what the alert says.

For example, If it says, Do you want Firefox to Save this password, the combo is ALT plus S.

If it says, Do you want Firefox to Allow the use of this plugin, the combo is ALT plus A.

If it says Do you want Firefox to Remember this location, the combo is ALT plus R.

The key words are Save, Allow, and Remember. If you hear one of these words, the combo is ALT plus the first letter of that Key Word.

Hi,

Thanks for the help and suggestions, its all working fine now, I've
definitely found the ctrl and y hotkey the easiest and quickest option, and
most similar to what I was used to in outlook 2010.

There are two ways to gain access to your folders. In my view, the easiest
is using hotkeys. To move to a folder, press ctrl+y and arrow or use
first-letter navigation. To move a message into a folder, press
shift+ctrl+v. If a tree is closed, open it with right arrow.

The second way is to use the folder pane. While in your list of messages,
press alt+v. then, press ctrl+right arrow until you reach the layout group.
The first button in that group is the Layout Pane. Press space, and
navigate through the choices. If you want to use it, press enter on the
choice for Normal. Now, from your message list, you can press
ctrl+shift+tab to get to the tree view of folders, or press f6 to cycle
through all the possible panes.

using JAWS Version 2018.1808.10.400 and GoldWave Version 6.35 with
version 2.0 of the JAWS scripts, I am unable to arrow thru the various
presets of any effect when wanting to see if a certain effect will
produce the effect I want. I emailed Jim Grimsby about this but he's
unable to do anything because he's not experiencing this problem.
anybody have an idea that might produce a fix for this issue?

are there any updated JAWS scripts?

Scripts won't help you find activation codes. They come from the manufacturers of the thing(s) you want registered with Ilok.

Hi.
good friend, everything is updated in this system.
Rives, time and date, and much more.
I don't know what else to do.
I'm not a person to give up easily, but I have no more patience for this issue.
for now I'm giving up on trying to solve this issue.
Maybe one day by magic, everything back to normal.
I want to thanks all friends on this group that tried to help me, and for all the patience of your hearts.

thank you all.
cheers.

Mario,

Have you tried going to device manager and update your video card drivers.
Also, check the time and date of your computer. JAWS will not install
if the date is wrong; especially, the year.
Steps to update video drivers:
1. hit start button
2. type in Device manager and hit enter 3. tab once and arrow down
through the list and find display adapters 4. right arrow and right
click, application key, Shift F10 whichever methods works for you, on
each item .
5. arrow through that list and hit enter on update drivers.
6. hit spacebar on the first button, this Lets the computer search
automatically. HTH

appdata is a hidden folder, so you have to go to c:\users\yourname\

Good luck!

Re: issue with installing JAWS on windows 10. The JAWS Install has failed.

Mário Navarro

hi.

I have no JFW version installed on the system.
because I can not install any 2018 version of JFW.
only the 18 version.

every time I try to install the 2018 version of JFW, I get notified with the following message:
the jfw installation failed.
never pass of zero percent.
with the talking box of JFW, or the NVDA. the issue is always the same.

thanks.
cheers.

jaws will usually install if you start the setup without any screen reader running at all.
the setup has its own jaws speech to take you through the setup process. but it will not load if jaws is still running.

Hi Mario,

I've had a similar problem. JAWS install hangs and never completes the install, never going past the very first screen which states something like, "Jaws install."

I worked extensively with VFO tech support with no resolution. I was finally able to install JFW by doing the following:

1. download the latest version from freedomscientific.com
2. turn off JFW
3. start NVDA

The installation works perfectly using NVDA, probably other screen readers as well. I've had the same issue with JFW 18 and 2018.

Winslow
