Hi Mike,

you've told me off list that the path of the folder that you're searching is something like: D:\mikem\top\middle\bottom. As this folder is on your D drive, then by default it's probably not indexed. When deciding what folders you want to include in indexing, it's worth keeping in mind that it's not a good idea just to index everything. Indexing stuff that you're not going to search just adds to the size of the index, and might slow down searching. Say, for example, the you wanted to index the folder D:\mikem, and all its subfolders. 1. Open the start menu and type indexing options. Indexing options will probably be the first result, and so you can just press Enter. The indexing option dialog opens. 2. Tab to the modify button and press it. The Indexed locations dialog opens. 3. The first control in this dialog is a change selected locations tree view. In this tree view, each of the items is a check box. If an item is checked, then it is indexed. 4. Arrow down to the D drive, and press right arrow to open it. The folders which it contains are now listed below it. 5. Down arrow to the folder mikem, and press spacebar to check it. 6. Tab to the OK button, and press it. You are returned to the Indexing options dialog. 7. Tab to the Close button, and press it. Note that depending on the size of the folder you have added to the indexing, you may have to wait a while before the indexing is complete, and give you the search results that you expect. David.

I've had the same experience noted by others. And I usually of late and up doing as Alan does sadly because with JFW 2018 and NVDA I was unable to get through that return form in any Windows based browser I have here. Amazon has made so many strides in terms of accessibility but this return form and the issue of links even when verbalizing properly when interacted with when using screen reader software don't seem to track properly as you often end up on pages that weren't your intended destination linger sadly. Here's hoping they'll be addressed one day. Take good care. Robin

Hi,
I actually don't use NVDA much, its more just there as a backup in case jaws doesn't work, so I'm not up to date with the different NVDA controls. But using arrows /cursor keys the checkboxes on amazong are a little confusing. What I do is go to the top of the page, then press the F key to cycle through edit boxes and checkbox's etc., for some reason everything seems to have two checkbox's, but its only one of them you need to actually click/select. using the F key, when you reach the return options you'll hear checkbox , with no other speech afterwards, ignore this checkbox. then press F key again it will then read out your product , it's a really long bit of text as it reads all its order numbers etc. here so it takes NVDA a while to read it all, but there is actually a check box here , this is the one you want to check, you can either wait until its finished speaking or just press space bar, the first time you press space it says un checked, press it a second time and then it will say checked, you can then tab to the drop down box which lets you select reason for return, select that and then you should be good to go. Sorry for the long email , hope this all makes sense and you manage to get it all sorted.

Hi,
Yeah I've had this problem too, although its not a perfect solution the only way round this I've found is to shut down jaws and open NVDA, using NVDA you can then select the tick box , plus the drop down menu which asks for the reason for the return then click the next/continue button, then when on the next page you can shut down NVDA and open jaws and continue from there on in with jaws. Like I said its not a perfect solution, but it gets the job done none the less. Hope this helps

If an employer requires you to do a task they must make Reasonable accommodations. The operable word here is Reasonable. If the program doesn’t work, you may not be able to perform the duties of the job. The real world result of this is that you may not be able to keep the job.

Hi, Does the program work with voice over? Also, under federal “American Disabilities Act” if an employer requires you to preform certain services they must make reasonable accommodations. In this case I believe it would include them assisting you in either paying to or finding someone to script the program for JAWS.
Just a thought. Dan

Hello all
For my job in a big company, I have to work with itrp , a cloud based tool from 4me.com.
This tool seems very complex and not always accessible.
Many buttons aren’t labeled, some buttons can’t be activated and I am not shore that all actions are possible with the keyboard.
I use the service on a win10 computer with jaws 2018 and the last chrome or last firefox.
If anyone has some tips, hints, jaws-scripts, other apps to acces this service like ios apps… all hints are very welcome.
If something is not clear, feel free to ask.
Kind regards, William Windels

Re: Returning an Item on amazon.com
Brian Buhrow
hello. I have returned items through Amazon using Safari with
VoiceOver under iOS. The steps I used were: 1. Log into amazon using your username and password. 2. Find the My Orders link and click on it. 3. Find the specific order for the item you're interested in returning. Assuming the time period for returns hasn't passed, there should be a link that says, Return this Item. 4. Fill out the return form that comes up. I personally hate writing in the text area of the Safari window, so what I do is compose a message, e-mail it to myself, pick it up on my phone, using the native iOS mail program, and copy the text of the message into the clipboard. I find placing my VoiceOver cursor at the beginning of the body of the e-mail message, then selecting "select by lines" from the text selection rotor item, gives me the most efficient control and reliable way to capture the text from my e-mail message. Then, on the return form, I paste the text I copied from my e-mail message into the box that asks for an explanation as to why I want to return the item. 5. Once the form is submitted, subsequent notifications and instructions come via e-mail. Sometimes they include links to pages where you can print return labels. All of those should be pretty accessible. Since I didn't see exactly where you were having trouble, I hope this explanation is helpful and relevant for you. -thanks -Brian
