Re: itunes on the task bar

Marty, from some notes I tucked away:

if you locate the executable (.exe) file that launches Itunes,
press the application key or shift+f10,
arrow down to and enter on send to submenu,
arrow down to and enter on desktop create shortcut.

if you don't know the what the executable is named, you can
press the windows key once, then again, then again, to cancel Cortana
from wanting to help and to bring up the search dialog,
type itunes, you want JAWS to say Itunes desktop application,
press the application key or shift+f10,
arrow to and enter on open location,
JAWS should announce the name Itunes followed by size and date followed
by if it is a shortcut.
press the application key or shift+f10,
arrow down to and enter on send to submenu,
arrow to and enter on desktop create shortcut.

there are probably other ways, hopefully others will say how.

I am curious.  Normally you need a photocopy of something that is on paper and not in your computer, so I am not certain how your directions below would help for a paper document.  I may not be understanding this of course.

Hi Tom,

I am not sure if either of my thoughts fit, but in case they might here they are.

My Canon printer can photocopy without any special software.  There is a button I can press and a photocopy is produced.  Maybe your printer has a similar feature.  Check with tech support on this for the printer company.

Second before this printer was acquired, I used the photocopy feature in Open Book.  It is not free software, but if you already have this program, take advantage of the photocopy feature.

Good luck.

I've successfully achieved this with diskpart. Delete the existing partition
table first, then create a new one. Then format it with a file system (e.g.,
exfat).

Re: itunes on the task bar

Dean Martineau <topdot@...>

I’m assuming you have iTunes installed on your win10 computer. To pin it to the task bar, in the start menu, type iTunes.  The app will come up in the list of suggestions likely before you’ve finished typing.  Arrow down to focus on the program in the list of suggestions and hit the context menu key.  Arrow through the choices and choose Pin to Task Bar.

If you want a shortcut on the desktop and there isn’t one already, there are two approaches.  (probably more than two.)  From the aforementioned context menu, choose Open File Location.  Now locate the executable, itunes.exe.  this is easier to do if in File Explorer, you have file extensions showing in the Show-Hide group on the view tab. Once you locate the executable, use the context menu and choose the Send To choice (shortcut key n,) and choose Desktop Create Shortcut.

Approach #2 involves a little geeky step which is easy, and makes the whole operation easy.  Press windows+r for the run dialog and type this as written: shell:appsfolder  A listing of all the apps on your computer will appear.  Find iTunes and press the context menu key.  Find Create Shortcut and press enter.  The system will complain that it cannot create a shortcut here and offer to put one on the desktop, which is of course what you want.

Subject: Looking for a Jaws accessible equalizer for PC

Hello list,

A couple of weeks ago, I was beginning to have issues with my HP Envy’s
audio. Major fluctuating in sound. Almost like audioducking, but for the
whole system.

Anyway, I did some poking around and looks like it wasn’t an uncommon issue
with HP laptops and the Bang and Olufsen sound package that comes with the
machine. I followed the instructions included in one forum posting that
included the uninstallation of what must have been a bad audio driver and
reinstalled the Realtec audio package. The reinstallation was supposed to
also reinstall the B&O equalizer, but for whatever reason, it did not.

The crazy audio jumping up and down got resolved and I wasn’t too broken up
about the B&O equalizer not getting reinstalled since it wasn’t the most
accessible application. Lots of unlabeled buttons, sliders and stuff.

Anyway, I would like to be able to make some tweaks to my laptop’s audio
since I don’t necessarily like the tinny/flat sound with Jaws for
everything. I’ve always more or less used what’s included in whatever PC I’m
on, but would like to know if there’s in fact an accessible equalizer
package out there that I can use to make some base/trevel and other
adjustments?

Again, not something I’ve ever really bothered with so I wouldn’t know where
to look per say.

Thanks,

Cristóbal
