Are there similar sounds in Office 2013?  tia

These sounds are enabled by turning on the Office Sounds.  In Word, go to the File menu, then options.  When the dialog opens, arrow down to the Ease of Access options, then tab over to where all the setting choices are.  The first option is a checkbox to enable the sounds.  Check if this got turned off somehow. 

I just started using this feature and am still not sure what all the sounds mean, but kind of like it.  I will note that, from my little test, I only get the sound if I select some text and then hit delete, but not if I delete character by character.

Using Ms outlook 2016 the sounds work.

I am hoping someone can point me in the write direction.

According to the manual, the "white Easy-Switch" keys are F1, F2, and F3. Hold one of them down for a few seconds, then press either FN+I for iOS, FN+O for Mac OS, or FN+P for Windows or Android,then pair your device according to that operating system's standard pairing procedures. To switch among paired devices, just hold down F1, F2, or F3 for about three seconds, and connection should take place.

I suggest you do a little more playing with various e-mail clients before making a comment like this one.  Any e-mail client does not come to have the embedded user base that Thunderbird has if it's "really substandard."

There's a ton of tech press material out there about the reasons for "splitting off" Thunderbird from Firefox, which has happened, but its home still remains under the Mozilla organization.  It's far from dying, too, in fact it's picked up steam since this organizational split.

All of the above being said, there are quite a few different e-mail clients out there, but the two that are really commonly used and have good accessibility on a consistent basis have been MS-Outlook and Thunderbird.  If you would still like to use Windows Live Mail 2012 it still works just fine for POP and IMAP mail, and I downloaded the final full installer for Windows Essentials 2012, of which WLM is a part, just before it was pulled from Microsoft's site.  You can download it here ( https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B98uELZbPFnOSF8xTzhfYnh4WUU ) , if you so choose.  It was and remains quite accessible under JAWS and NVDA.  I haven't tried it with Narrator.

will not recognize the DVD drive. I plugged it into a windows 7
machine I have and an old windows xp machine, and the drive is

If you are happy with whatever you have for WiFi you can always just buy a 5-port or 8-port desktop switch. Plug it into one of your 2 ports and bingo, you have 5 or 8 more and no setup is required, also it’s a lot cheaper than a really good router which has the number of ports you want.

I realize that, however, I just don’t want to add a Router that has a stupid interface like I’ve seen with the Asus Router. I need to have more than just two Ethernet ports, that’s the only reason I need the Router.

Modem should have nothing to do with a screen reader.

If anything, modem compatibility has more to do with your iSP. I’ve got a surfboard 6193 with 16 down channels and 32 up channels. I bought it and have it working with my Spectrum 200 MB down service. This is a really great modem, but it wouldn’t work with AT&T for example. Jaws has nothing to do with it.

I just gave Spectrum its mac adress to ping it and good to go.

Modems are more or less plug and play.

Now, if you’re talking about a router, As long as you can at least access the web interface, then you should be fine. I used to have a TPLink Archer triband AC router, but recently upgraded to an Eero mesh router for better coverage. I access this device through my iPhone though.

I’d like to hear anyone’s opinion on what cable modem router works in conjunction with JAWS. Boy, I bet this gets some differing opinions (smile).
