Timothy,

That is the site that is broken.  The links to the actual file do not work and they still, after several weeks, have not even put the last version of the Braille Edge Firmware on their web site.

I’m arranging with Charles to get him the file.

I do not work for HIMS but I work in the field.

Hello,

It sounds like your Outlook isn’t set up properly. This message came through just fine, but the fact it wants to open it up in windows Mail tells me whoever actually set up Outlook only did part of the job. This would also explain why I never received your email.

Hello,

I am replying to this thread only because I have been having trouble posting directly to the list using MS Outlook, though I have joined it. So, just as a test, I have clicked on the e-mail address for the group seen in some of the posts. When I do that, I am sent to Windows Mail,  not Outlook, which is my mail client. I can read the mail from the group in Outlook. So, I am wondering if it is not possible to actually send a post to this group using Outlook? I did e-mail the list moderator with no response.

I agree with Richard, when I read messages I delete them when I read the message and if another person replies a day later referring to something but he does not have the thread in his message I found it is often unclear what this refers to. I guess in such a case I just also delete he message since I may not be able torespond not knowing the context, but while a long thread may not be always useful it doesn’t bother me since the new reply is at the top (if it isn’t then that is not my problem) so I don’t have to read the entire thread, but if I do want to refer back to something then I can or if I look for a link that was in a message 5 replies further down the thread then it is easy to find..

Marty, from some notes I tucked away:

if you locate the executable (.exe) file that launches Itunes,
press the application key or shift+f10,
arrow down to and enter on send to submenu,
arrow down to and enter on desktop create shortcut.

if you don't know the what the executable is named, you can
press the windows key once, then again, then again, to cancel Cortana
from wanting to help and to bring up the search dialog,
type itunes, you want JAWS to say Itunes desktop application,
press the application key or shift+f10,
arrow to and enter on open location,
JAWS should announce the name Itunes followed by size and date followed
by if it is a shortcut.
press the application key or shift+f10,
arrow down to and enter on send to submenu,
arrow to and enter on desktop create shortcut.

there are probably other ways, hopefully others will say how.

Tom,

Text Cloner Pro might be an option though it isn’t free.  I cannot find a price on their web site, but I think it is around $100..

Text Cloner Pro does a good job and is most certainly way less expensive than Openbook or Kurzweil.  It does have the copy function you are looking for and works with any Twain compatible scanner.

You can call them on Monday, U.S. & Canada: 888-514-9117
