That plus the disk you get probably doesn' have the latest Jaws updates with it. Even FS recommends you download of their site to get the latest and greatest.

How do jaws users evaluate a keyboard on a laptop you are considering?
I'm talking about the presence (or absence) of keys that are necessary to
the functionality of jaws commands.

I received a new Lenovo Ideapad and was dismayed to realize that the
keyboard is missing not only the applications key but also the dedicated
home, end, page up and page down keys. Strangely, my old Lenovo, the one I
am typing this message on, has all these keys so it never occurred to me to
try and verify that the new one would also.
But now I'm wondering, how do you check the keyboard specs when ordering a
new laptop that you haven't actually had your hands on?

Before someone suggests an external keyboard let me say that I require the
portability of a laptop that doesn't necessitate dragging around an extra
keyboard. I also don't really want to remap a bunch of keys to accomplish
everyday functions.

So what do people suggest? Do I really have to drag myself over to
microcenter or some other store so I can actually touch the laptop I'm
considering? Is there another way?

Same issue of needless waste for an item that by the time you get it in your hands will be outdated. Besides, I would imagine that USB stick would be a way less economic option than disks and it's not like you think you can get over and score a free thumb drive. I mean, what's a full JFW executable in size? Vispero's not sending out thousands of 4 or 8 GB sticks either.
Besides, you have to make an effort at this point to get a laptop with an optical drive. Towers can't be too far behind. 
Still this all dances around the same issue. Sending out DVD's has become a method that's outlived its use. If someone wants a Jaws installer, there's nothing stopping someone from burning it onto a disk if they absolutely want some sort of hard copy. No different than creating a Windows ISO. And yes, I know not everyone is on the same level of computer literacy, but even then, it's not like they get a hard copy for every update released between the major upgrades and yet, everyone survives. 
Between the check for update feature built into Jaws, the .EXE file you can download and long established cycle of multiple updates throughout the year, still advocating for a mailer really is pointless.

For me, that's not the motivation. It's just wasteful to send out a DVD when 
we can simply download the product. Save them money and saves me the hassle

Tom,

Under Firefox, CTRL+SHIFT+B brings up the bookmarks manager (which, oddly enough, has the window title "Library"). The structure of the Bookmark Manager is very, very much like File Explorer.

If you don't happen to open with it in the "From Internet Explorer" list of bookmarks, then Shift+Tab back over to the tree view, get yourself to that group, then tab back over in to the actual bookmarks list for that group. Locate the bookmark for the page you need to edit. Since I have no idea what you've called it or how it's stored I can't get more specific about what to search for. Once you've landed on it, you can then hit Tab and start moving through the edit boxes for a bookmark:

Name
Location (the URL itself)
Tags
Keyword

I have never bothered with tags or keyword. You will, of course, want to select all in the Location edit box and paste in the corrected URL. There is no save button. Just make sure to tab out of the field you've edited to make sure it "sticks" and you can then ALT+F4 to close the Bookmarks Manager window.

Changed Bookmark Link In Firefox

Hello, everyone.

I have just noticed a very anoying problem with Firefox.

Here’s the short explanation:

In Firefox, I have a bookmark for the web site of my local National Weather Service office.

I also have this link in Internet Explorer.

For some reason, when I now go to that link in Firefox, I get the National Weather Service Central Region Headquarters web site, and not the web site of mylocal NWS office.

Interestingly, when I go to the same bookmark in Internet Explorer (which can be found in my IE 11 favorites), the local weather service web site comes up just fine.

How could this have changed in Firefox, and are there steps I can use to reinstate my preferred link in my Firefox bookmarks?

All of this is causing me to seriously consider dumping Firefox, and going to Google Chrome as my alternative to Internet Explorer.

In fact, I have installed Google Chrome on my new Windows 10 computer, and will start trying it out once I get that computer more completely set up.

There is a tick box on the page telling you about the podcase that you can tick so it doesn’t show these any more.

When it first comes up you Shift+Tab once to Not show this in the future, might be slightly different wording, but it's simply a checkbox, check it and tab to OK.

You can also do it by searching default settings for "FS", the following is the only option which shows up:

Notify about new FSCasts not checked
Miscellaneous- that means it's in Settings under the Miscellaneous group.

No, my response was based on your specifying a shortcut that already points
to a web browser. My point is that any shortcut that is not strictly a link
to a URL is a candidate for making a copy and creating a file-based
executable shortcut with a URL as the pass parameter. Either suggestion from

operation.

Kimber,

The  shortcut you created is based on using an URL to launch a web site. It
will not work with a file execution.

First, make a copy of some other shortcut on your desktop that *does not*
launch a web page, such as Notepad, your email program, etc. Something that
does not have an http: in the first edit field.

Now Alt+Enter on that copied shortcut and edit the first field with your
browser file path followed by the http: of the web site you want.
Make sure to surround the file path with quotation marks if there are any
spaces in the folder or file names -- it cannot have any spaces.

Save the shortcut and then use F2 to rename the icon on your desktop.

Thanks again. Now for some troubleshooting. When I open properties and
enter my file path before the url of the BARD site everything looks
fine. I ok out then when I test it I am seeing a message that says
this page can't be displayed. When I go back into the properties I am
