numbering using Jaws
G. Gray
Hello All-
Is there a way to list numberically the files in a folder using Jaws?
I use Jaws 2019 with windows 7. This would be helpful in showing how many
files are in a folder. Thanks...I’m a relatively new Jaws user.

Hi, Sieghard. The thing that caused me to know that Laura had opened the file before copying it to the clipboard is that this is the only circumstance in which the file would be copied directly into the content of the email message.

Bill, you think differently, I never thought she may have opened the file and copied its contents. Laura, Bill is correct, just press Control + C when you are on the file name, then go to your message body field and press Control + V. If you want to make sure the file was attached press Jaws Key + A or Shift + Tab and it will take you to the attachments list where your file should not be listed.

Laura,
Generally speaking, you can open your My documents folder and copy the file with Control C. If you need to navigate to it, you can open file explorer with the Windows key E, then Shift Tab once to the tree view and arrow down to documents. Hit space bar or enter, then tab once back to the file list.

Re: Sending attachments Outlook 2016
What do you mean it copied it into your message. Maybe explain a bit more what exactly it is, what type of file, is it a picture, a word document, a text document? Also, where in the message were you when you pressed Control + V? This method definitely works because I often send several emails a day with attachments and this is what I do and it is 100% reliable. I can copy one file to the clipboard or I can copy 2 or 3 or 10 and paste them all at once and they all become attachments to the message. You can also do it the complicated way: 1. When you have started your email, put in the recipients address, typed in the subject and then typed your message press Alt + H followed by A and F, that is Alt + H for the “Home” menu, then “A” for attach” and “F” for File”. 2. In the dialogue that now comes up you can see if you can locate your file in the recents list or press Shift + Tab once to “Browse This PC”, this will open a standard “open file” dialogue where you can press Shift + Tab again a few times to get into your folder tree view, locate the folder where you saved the file and then locate the file. 3. Once you found the file you can just press enter and it will be attached. Trust me, the copy and paste method first described is much easier. Regards, Sieghard

Re: mark as read
Michael,
After enabling Gmail Keyboard Shortcuts you can also select all unread conversations in one fell swoop with *+u (which is really a 3-key press SHIFT+8+U, since I don't know of any keyboards where the asterisk is a lowercase character). Then you can use the previously mentioned keyboard shortcut to mark them all as read. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L. Do you have Gmail keyboard shortcuts enabled?
If so, after you've selected all the messages/conversations you wish to mark as read, you can then hit SHIFT+i to mark them all as read. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L. Hello; what you could try is, create a sound rule, which will play a sound when you receive messages,
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
****** 1, open outlook; 2,, Press the applications key, now press the letters S&l, this will allow you to create new rule, so, tab press enter on, create new rule button, 3, now your into step 1 of creating the new rule for sound, press the en-key on your computer, now press up arrow until you hear; Apply rule on messages I receive now you need to go to next button, alt+n, 4, now your on step 2, this is the conditions, you don't make change here, just simply press alt+n=nexxt, you will see the following screen; Microsoft Outlook This rule will be applied to every message you receive. Is this correct? Yes No you obviously need to choose yes, 5, your now into step 3 applying actions, press the end-key, up-arrow until you hear; play a sound, press spacebar to check this item, tab once, down arrow, and press enter to go into the browse to find a sound, now it gets farely tricky, you need to tab until you get to the sshell folder view, which will show a list of sounds, select your sound, press enter, alt+n=next button, now you will see/hear that your choice of sound has been selected, tab go to finish button, you will hear your sound and a ok button, press enter. your sound rule has been created. now you should hear sounds ok. let me know if this helps. In a couple of word documents, which are in clear English, Jaws reads the contents in a foreign language. The problem persists even if I copy the same to a new document. Any idea why this is happening? Also any work around to get rid of the same? (apart from routing through notepad) Thanking you Best Turab ________________________________ CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed and may contain confidential and privileged information protected by law.
