Hi Mark. You might consider using the Insert b command to read the dialog box. I have also had some success using the touch cursor in order to read the messages as well.

I’m using exactly this combination – JAWS, Microsoft Outlook, and OneDrive , with no “lag” or similar issues.

If you’re still using an old-style spinning hard drive rather than a fast SSD, this could explain the problem. Ideally, these days, you should use an NVME solid-state drive. The laptop that I run Windows on has one. If it isn’t the drive, it could be lack of memory. System Information should show how much memory is in use.

And the issue definitely involves OneDrive because when I delete OneDrive and go back to Dropbox, Outlook plays beautifully when open with Jaws and Dropbox.

I hope this makes sense.

In order to remedy some of your lagging problems, it would be best to make sure that the Outlook Reading Pane is turned off. When the Reading Pane is on, it causes a small window to the right bottom of the Inbox to show part of the message being highlighted. This can cause Outlook to noticeably lag when moving between the messages.

Dear Glenn & List:

Your version of Office must be truly ancient. even Word, Excel & Outlook in Office 2003 had f7 for spell check. There adoptions in the setup screens about doing grammar check etc.

If you buy newer Office, such as 2019, you will notice vast improvements in spell and grammar checkers. Well worth the money.

When I tried using Edge today for the first time since a year ago (when I didn’t like it), I got the “you have a new notification,” just like I got earlier.
