I have used Team viewer program for a Windows computer.  It is free.  It does allow for screen sharing.  It is accessible.  It does not have an audio option so you would need to use the phone for example.  Another way is to open up your word processing software and write back and forth on it once you are connected.  I have done that a few times when the telephone connection went bad.  Smile.

 

FYI:  My sister has an Apple computer and I have a Windows computer and Team viewer works for us.

Recently, I was getting some help from my sighted friend, Markus Johnson (yes, that's "Markus" with a K, not a C), and we ran into a problem with ITeleport, a software that allows one to share their screen with another. Specifically, ITeleport is being blocked by Google for security reasons, due to an "unrecognized device". Strangely enough, we used to be able to log on to ITeleport in the past with no problems at all. That being said, is there an alternative to ITeleport that won't experience that kind of problem? More specifically, is there a screenreader-friendly software for screen sharing? I know there's Team Viewer, but the version I have was specifically installed by PC Audio Labs, the company that makes the computer I have it on. I used to have Yuuguu (I think I spelled that right), which is both a screen sharing and chat software, but that one wasn't exactly screenreader friendly.

What OS are you using?  If it's Windows 10 then the built-in Quick Assist is both accessible and reliable.

You can just screen share or allow your assistant full control.  It does not include audio, so I always have a simultaneous speaker phone call going, too.

I don’t think Features coming soon will be found in the retail version of Office since it is not updated constantly as Office 365 is. If you have the subscription version and sign up for Office Insider you get monthly updates and even if not you get pretty frequent Office updates.

There is now also a difference in the Jaws scripts for the subscription and retail versions and going forward Jaws scripts for the subscription version will get more attention and updates in order to keep up with changes and new features in Office.

Well, pressing alt+u results in a “ding” sound; indicating that no action could be taken.  And, the “try” command thing remains.  I am not using the subscription version of Outlook; that is, Office 360.  I am indeed using Outlook 2016 and JAWS 2019.

Not for me, if I press the alt key and focus is on the Home menu all I have to do is arrow left twice and it will either say Turn on features coming soon or Turn off features coming soon checked.

Are you maximized? I guess you can try Alt + U and see what happens, it’s a toggle so if things change for the worse just press it again.

I assume you are talking about the subscription version of Outlook and not the retail version?

Your below is interesting.  However, for me when I follow these steps I end up hearing a series of "try" commands.  What are those?  I do not hear the option button about new features.  I wonder if my hearing these "try" commands means that I have the new features option turned-on?  Perhaps an alt+u would toggle them off?  What do you think?

Have you checked if the "Coming Soon" feature in Outlook is turned off?

When you are in your Inbox press the Alt key to bring up the ribbon menu, you should be on "Home", now left arrow twice, here is Jaws History:

 

I press the Alt key and here this:

Upper Ribbon, Ribbon, Home Tab, Alt followed by H I press the left arrow once and here this:

Leaving menus, File Tab Button, Alt followed by F I press the left arrow a second time and here this:

Ribbon Tabs Tab expanded, Turn on features coming soon Button, Alt followed by U

 

As you can see Alt followed by U is the shortcut, but that will just toggle it and not tell you if it's on or off.

If it says " Turn on features coming soon" then it is off and your problem is a different one.

But if you hear Turn off features coming soon Button checked" then it is on and you can turn this off by pressing the spacebar.

Note that whether you turn it on or off Jaws will focus on an "OK" button and the message which it seems you can only read with the touch cursor is simply this:

 

You must restart this application for the changes to take effect.

OK

 

So go ahead and press OK, then close Outlook completely, wait a few seconds and reopen it, now try to see if you can read those fields with the shortcut keys.

I suggest this should be turned off, if it is on you may get upcoming features which could cause issues like this before Vispero and/or Microsoft has time to make any necessary changes.

I certainly also don't have any issues with Alt + 1, Alt + 2 and so on reading the From, To, CC etc. Fields.

Will it cost anything to have this software? If so, how much? Also, with
ITeleport, Markus seems to have to change his password every now and then,
which is a pain in the rear for both of us, as I keep having to write down a
new one every time. Will this software have the same thing happen? Also, don't
you have to have a Skype phone in order to use it? The reason why I'm sharing
my screen with Markus is because he's helping me to configure some virtual
instruments that don't have keyboard shortcuts, more specifically those where
the interface is mostly graphic-based icons, so the workaround for us is to
use Axife Mouse Recorder (http://www.axife.com) to make mouse movement scripts
that I can press enter on with my keyboard, and the mouse automatically clicks
wherever the script tells it to go, for example, on the Menu icon for FM Tines
2.0 http://fmtines.com.

Have you checked if the "Coming Soon" feature in Outlook is turned off?

When you are in your Inbox press the Alt key to bring up the ribbon menu,
you should be on "Home", now left arrow twice, here is Jaws History:



I press the Alt key and here this:

Upper Ribbon, Ribbon, Home Tab, Alt followed by H I press the left arrow
once and here this:

Leaving menus, File Tab Button, Alt followed by F I press the left arrow a
second time and here this:

Ribbon Tabs Tab expanded, Turn on features coming soon Button, Alt followed
by U



As you can see Alt followed by U is the shortcut, but that will just toggle
it and not tell you if it's on or off.

If it says " Turn on features coming soon" then it is off and your problem
is a different one.

But if you hear Turn off features coming soon Button checked" then it is on
and you can turn this off by pressing the spacebar.

Note that whether you turn it on or off Jaws will focus on an "OK" button
and the message which it seems you can only read with the touch cursor is
simply this:



You must restart this application for the changes to take effect.

OK



So go ahead and press OK, then close Outlook completely, wait a few seconds
and reopen it, now try to see if you can read those fields with the shortcut
keys.

I suggest this should be turned off, if it is on you may get upcoming
features which could cause issues like this before Vispero and/or Microsoft
has time to make any necessary changes.

I certainly also don't have any issues with Alt + 1, Alt + 2 and so on
reading the From, To, CC etc. Fields.

I can't speak to anything in Adobe Pro.  It really is important to do as you've done and identify the exact Adobe product that's being used.

I made the mistake of assuming Reader DC when responding to the original questioner, and this may not be the case.

It's up to the various apps to support it. i'm sure that Lyre might look into it if you contact them. Also it probably works well on a phone, since it has a mobile version. I only use web-based RSS readers, so I have absolutely no need for this.
