Re: How do I make a webpage the default in Chrome?
Keith,
I am presuming you already know how to get to the Chrome menu button and to select Settings from said menu. [If not, just say so.] Once Settings open search on "On Startup" which is a section with three radio buttons (and you'll be selecting number three):
Once you select that radio button several things appear depending on what you've done in the past:
Obviously, if you choose the "Add a new page" link you get a pop-up dialog asking you to enter the URL for same. You can enter more than one page by activating this link repeatedly if you want multiple tabs to open when Chrome starts, each with one of the specified webpages. Any additional questions please ask. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L. Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Hi,
I’m running Wind 10 with Jaws 2019.
How can I make a certain web page my default upon opening Chrome?
No luck so far trying to freelance it.

If the latter, you can use the Save As feature of the system PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat DC). If the former, there's generally a download control in the browser's PDF presenter, but I haven't played with getting to that control via screen reader. I personally hate having PDFs opened inside a web browser and promptly change the browser settings to have it pass off any PDF files to open with my system PDF viewer. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L. save link as command. the standard save as dialog should open allowing you to type a name for the file (or accept the default name) and change the location to where you want to save it onto your HD. depending on which browser you're using, the term (it might just say save as instead of save link as) and manner in which it saves the PDF changes slightly but the concept is similar. for example, pressing the application key or shift+f10 instead of right clicking, bla bla bla. also, some websites may not allow to save the PDF, in which case there may be another way to save the PDF such as simply pressing control+s after it has been opened.

Van Lant, Robin
If u want them in separate columns, then I agree with the use of Notepad . You can also see if pressing F2 in the cell where you want to paste, then Control V will work I used this is I am capturing a paragraph or list that I want in one Excel cell.

You could paste the items into Notepad, then manually put them one after another separated either by a comma or a tab, once finished select all, copy and now paste into Excel.

Hello, For me job, I need to collect different parts of a website into the clipboard to paste in ms-excel 2010.
I use the jaws-script AppendTextToClipboard to collect the items into the clipboard but when I paste them in excel, the items are pasted each on a defferent row (below each other). They should be pasted next to each other.
The transpose feature from ms excel is not solving the problem.
Any idea if I can force this with jaws, a jaws-script or anothe raccessible program on win10?
Kind regards for any responses.

Re: Purchased Access 2016 on Ebay
Hi Richard,
The fact that .Ly is for Lybia doesn't necessarily mean all that much in todays age of URL redirects and all that. I put "What is the www.bit.ly website" and received a lot of search results for the Bitly URL shortening service which uses bit.ly as their domain. Here is the Wikipedia article about Bitly, but I would say it's safe enough to use that link, what prompted me to Google it was the fact that it looked like a shortened URL.

William, to avoid too much tedium, but you could copy each bit of info

that goes into each cell at a time. I don't think there is a way to copy all of the info you want and paste it in to Excel the way you want, side by side in one shot, if I understand what you're wanting to do. you might need to do some tidying up of what is pasted into the cell, depending on how the info from the website is delineated.

Re: Purchased Access 2016 on Ebay
As an aside, given that "recycled licenses" for Office 2016 Pro Plus routinely cost about the same as the $11 paid for Access 2016, they're a better bargain and you get the entire office suite, including Access, in the bargain.
I have updated six computers now using recycled licenses purchased from eBay and have had no trouble except with one license key, which the seller promptly replaced with another when I let them know it didn't work. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L. Re: Purchased Access 2016 on Ebay
The link leads to an AccessRetail.img file. If what you purchased was a license key, you can still go to Microsoft's site to download the installer, and that's what I'd do anyway. bit.ly is a competitor to tinyurl and other "URL shortener" services.
The Access page is: https://products.office.com/en-us/access I would presume the "Try Now" button would download the trial version which could be enabled by supplying a license key. Do not be surprised if the key you received will not activate via the internet. You may have to use phone activation, but even that's a misnomer in a way these days. You're asked a couple of questions by a "bot" along with your mobile number (if you have one) and the confirmation code, which is ungodly long, which will allow you to complete activation is texted to you. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L.
