OK, Just open the start menu and go to the programs and press shifgt plus F10 and then arrow to send to then arrow to send to desktop. This will place a shortcut on the desktop without messing around in files. If as sometimes happens in wildows 10 you dont get the option to send to then you will have to click open location then at that point copy and paste the shortcut to the desktop.

  2. When you find the program, do not press  enter, press the context key or shift F10.
  3. Press enter on the open fie location option. The cursor is in the location of the executable file.
  4. Press the context key or shift F10 again on the file.
  5. Arrow to the send to submenu. Shortcut N.
  6. Select the desktop create shortcut from this submenu, short cut D.

Sorry forgot to say I have never had to use a PC to setup an echo. You can use the alexia.amazon.com webpage to do it but the Phone apps are the mainstream way of setting them up.

Yes, 2 of the most useful tools are mostly useless for us... I really dont understand why it is so hard to make Favorites and History easy to use. first letter navigation and a file tree is all it would take. Not multiple list boxes that dont work unless you do 2 or 3 work arounds and jumping from box to box is stupid.

Hello Brian,

tried the approach via the favorites manager - still quite cumbersome.

It seems to me that longterm maintaining the IE favorites file on the desktop is much more efficient:

I will still save the favorite in the Edge Browser with Control + d

Additionally however - and this is certainly more work

1. Go with control + l and copy the web address of the page in Edce

2. Open the IE favorites on the desktop

3. create new shortcut with the application menue.

After this I have the convienience of handling all subsequent accesses with keyboard searches etc from the desktop file.

Tom,

Find the location of the actual programme on your computer (not the shortcut), and see if that runs

Will probably be installed in c:\program files or c:\program files (x86)

If you examine the file properties of the short-cut (alt-enter on the shortcut) it will tell you where the programme location  and executable filename is.

If you use the “run” command you should just be able to type in that name and if the programme doesn’t run still – you know the problem isn’t with the shortcut.

Some appointments on the calendar start with the text related to the appointment. I talked with Microsoft Accessibility and got no where. Any thoughts of what might be creating the problem? I'm not familiar with Google Docs. But maybe try ctrl-s inside the PDF itself to save it locally. You could also try context menu options on a relevant link, there should be a save link option in your browser.

Hello,
I am trying to download a pdf that opens in drive pdf viewer with Google classroom JAWS2020 but there is no download button to be found.
I tried pressing alt with f to see if I can get a file menu and also to disable the virtual cursor in order to tab around and see if I can locate a download button but again I cannot find it.
I know that Google has made changes to drive and the layout has gotten a bit more complicated so I am wondering if anyone has steps to locate this button?
I pressed enter on the actions button and details and I was able to see that viewers do have permission to download the file.
I know that the pdf can be opened in Google docs but I would prefer to be able to download the pdf since there is mathematical content I need to email out and I want it displayed correctly.
Thank you in advance for any responses.

For what it is worth, Jaws 2020 August release for me is mostly useless in those windows.

However, I just tried it with the Jaws 2021 beta and everything reads fine.

With Jaws 2020 if you use the Touch cursor things read, but how to activate something is a mystery to me.

I usually turn off Jaws and launch Narrator when I am in Windows settings since it reads fine.

But I can only read them with Jaws cursor now and the left and right mouse click do not always work.

Is everybody else reading these pages OK?
If so, does anybody know what Jaws setting I need to change to allow reading of these pages again?

I have both of these Keyboards also And like Seagirt I thinkThe G 613 needs heavier springs under the buttons... The logitech K 780 is a great keyboard and it is my everyday keyboard. Until I got the G 613 I've never had a keyboard with two windows keys and application key so I don't miss them.

The only wireless keyboard I have ever had which has a working applicationb key as well as 2 Windows Keys is the Logitech G613 Mechanical gaming keyboard. It also has 6 keys down the left side (to the left of where tab, caps lock, shift and control are and the keyboard can be used either via a Bluetooth connection or a USB dongle. It is also called "Lightspeed" because if you use it with the USB dongle on a PC it bosts a 1 millisecond latency and it is in fact extremely responsive and for a PC I would never use it via Bluetooth. It is, however, nice if you have an iPhone or other smartphone, switching between Bluetooth and USB is done via a mechanical slider switch at the top and it is very convenient if you also want to use it with a smartphone or tablet.

I found that unfortunately the durability/reliability is a bit lacking, I had mine less than a year when Jaws sometimes was doing weird things like skipping key presses and so on and eventually I realized that it was the keyboard because when I connected one of my Das Keyboard mechanical wired keyboards the problem disappeared. The feel of the keyboard is OK although it's not my favourite and I much prefer the Blue switches of the Das Keyboard. At home I use a Logitech K780 which you can pair with up to 3 devices and this one also comes with a USB dongle, but it's not a mechanical keyboard and it does not have an application key or a Windows key on the right.

Randy:

I do not have a preference. The one I have at present, is a standard keyboard. It only has one Windows key. While it has an Applications key, it does not work with my HP Pavillion DV6 laptop, so I always need to use SHIFT+F10, to open the Applications menue. The set of keys between the main keyboard and the number pad, only has 5 keys, With the DELETE key being the size of the INSERT and DELETE keys, very inconvenient, especially if you need to use the insert key.

First off do you want a mechanical or standard keyboard? I have both. The mechanical one I have is  a little light on the touch. I'd like it to be stiffer my standard Logitech keyboard isNice but Nice bud I would use The mechanical one more if the keys were a little stiffer.

G skill mechanical keyboards are nice just make sure you get the stiffer keys. And of course logitech K-series are excellent. Both brands of keyboards have ones that do both Bluetooth and wireless with a little dongle.

Hello everyone:

My ten-year-old wireless keyboard, like me,  is definetly getting knackered, and showing its age. Some of the keys are getting stiff when I depress them, and the on/off switch, does not work properly all the time.

I am looking for a wireless keyboard, which has 2 Windows keys, and has the 6-pack of keys between the main keyboard and the number pad. I am not that bothered if the keyboard does not have the additional keys for launching certain programs and for raising and lowering the volume, and muting the sound. Oh! yes! I am only interested in US style keyboards.

Thank you for any and all suggestions

Hi, That was very annoying! I finally just put /sighnup.html after the .com and got to it! So just copy and paste this address into Edge  and you can sign up:

Hi,

An app developer recently created a new Twitter app, called Aviary.

They’ve created a subreddit to discuss the app.

I’d like to join, but am having trouble creating a reddit account.

Has anyone on here successfully done this with jaws and the latest version of Microsoft Edge?

Any tips?

Thanks,
