On my iMac there's a setting in Keyboard settings to use Smart Quotes and Dashes. It's either checked or unchecked. If it's checked, when you type a quote, it's automatically changed to a Smart Quote. Not sure how to do this in Windows... I think it's a setting within Outlook. Thanks, Russell

Yes, all browsers do. In chrome, hit jaws+v to open the settings, type refr in the box, hit tab and you should be able to change the refresh setting from automatic, 60 seconds or off if your version is like Jaws 19, which I believe it is.

You will find too, that if you search for books with an apostrophe in the title, the smart single quote, which is supposed to be the apostrophe won't return any results. I agree with Russell’s approach. That is exactly how I would do it. Technically you can combine both of the formulas into one cell, but I tend to like to show the results of each count in a different cell.

Using Skype

Hello Listmembers,
I have scheduled a training session (via Skype) with a BrailleNote user for tomorrow to provide some training in using the Apex which I recently purchased, primarily as a Notetaker. I am reaching out to the list to request some assistance with using Skype, a program that I haven’t used in a number of years. I have set up a Skype account and downloaded the Windows 10 desktop version of Skype and reviewed the JAWS/Skype keyboard commands. What I would appreciate is the opportunity to review some of these commands and get some direction in adding a contact and setting up a Skype session to participate in this Apex training, again scheduled for tomorrow. Let’s say you have Yes or no in cells B2 to B100. In cell B101, or wherever you wish, type the formula, CountIf(B2:B100,”Yes”). This will give you the number of cells with “Yes” in them. Then, in B102, or whoever you wish, type the formula, =CountA(B2:B100) Note the letter “A” after “Count” in the above formula. This will give you the total number of cells in column B that have data. Now, to calculate the percentage of cells with “Yes” in them, in cell B103, or wherever, type the formula, =B101/B102 You are dividing the number of “Yes” by the total number of cells with data. You will get a number like 0.67 or something like that. Press CTRL + 1 while in that cell and change the number formatting to Percentage, choose the number of decimal places you wish to show, and tab to OK. Hope this helps. Russell
