I understand what is happening, but don't have solutions yet. The issue is that Google Docs is doing echoing with "live" regions, and JAWS is also doing echoing of characters.  
You could always adjust echo  and if you create a special Google Docs profile that could be added to the Settings center for that profile. There also might be a setting in Google Docs to adjust typing echo.

Let me chime in to agree with others on a strong preference for continuing to use the IE favorites rather than the clunky bookmarks in Chrome. One thing to add: when you open something from the Favorites folder, it will open in your default browser, not IE, even though you created them in IE. I very much hope that Microsoft changes its current Edge favorites to using the favorites folder in the user folder soon. Although called favorites in Edge, the whole structure is that of bookmarks in Chrome. If the big selling point of Edge is that it is supposedly part of the Windows operating system, then it should use the Favorites folder in the user folder. Creating favorites is the only thing I still use IE for.

My MS Office updated automatically the other night.  I am currently using Microsoft Word Subscription Version 16.0.13530.20198.  This update has significantly changed how the menus work when saving a document.  Previously I could do an alt F and then hit A to do a save as.  This would bring up a dialogue box in which I could  shift tab twice and get a list of recently used folders from which I could use first letter navigation to get to a folder to open and complete the saving process.  Now when I shift tab twice I get a question about making pinned folders.  If I arrow down that list I can see folders that I have previously used but they are separated by "today", "this week" and "last week".  This same set up occurs when trying to open a document in word.  First letter navigation does not work in this configuration.  I am guessing that some view or feature that I normally use has been changed in the update.  Any ideas about what I need to do to get back to just having a recent folders or documents list that is not distinguished by today, this week and so on?

It works quite well with Edge, but Chrome is probably better, I can’t speak to that personally though.
