Hi list sorry to report this but, we may not ever have it back. webvisum was disabled the other day when Firefox 5 was installed. it seems mozilla has decided that they will now release new versions of firefox every two months. the word on the NFB graphic user interface list is that webvisum will likely give up trying to update it since there is likely no way for them to ever keep up with this new timetable. Thank you mozilla for caring so much to protect the internet from us dangerous blind hackers/spammers. I wouldn't get my hopes up for a screen reader to have it built in since if they can do that, the real spammers would be able to do it to so that would defeat the whole need for capcha.

there is a spot, pardon a link where you can fill out a "request" and get an invitation to web visum, if you remember your address and sign in password (the same ones you input into web visum so it could automatically sign in) you can go and download it again, I would use revo uninstaller to pull out the old web visum, and then reinstall a new copy.

Good morning. I'm sending this to you individuals because the JFW list seems to be down right now. Yesterday I sent this to the Webvisum Discuss listserv and subscribed to their mailing list, but I suspect they may be very slow to respond. If I don't hear from them in a week or so, what do I do with Web sites that require verification? I could try Solona but not sure if that works with Firefox, or if it can handle captchas and images as efficiently as Webvisum. Thanks for your feedback.

Hi all. Recently I've been reading some posts regarding updating to the latest version of Firefox, and that Webvisum hadn't released an update for that version. For some time I've been able to use it on my current version of Firefox 3.6. Someone suggested I download a portable version of Firefox 5 to see how it worked and whether or not Webvisum worked with it. Another post explained a work around for accessing Webvisum with Firefox 5.0, by going to the install.rdf file and changing the max number from 4 to 5. I did this and saved the change, then downloaded the portable Firefox 5, but this created an error message in Firefox 3 saying the file wasn't well-formed or something. Webvisum not only didn't work on the portable Firefox, but now it no longer works on Firefox version 3, and I also deleted the install file for Webvisum and the plugin is no longer there. Can you suggest a way to get a new plugin for Webvisum to download again to Firefox 3? I'm already logged in, but can't find a link to download the plugin. I erroneously sent a request for an invitation but discovered that's not necessary if I know my username and password. Thanks for your assistance.

Re: cannot install/activate pluginRe: Webvisum plugin lost
I went to www.webvisum.org If I remember correctly, there's a "contact us" link on the homepage. On the contacts page itself, they urge us to join their list and provide instructions. So far no one from the organization has responded to my query, but a few Webvisum users have said Webvisum can't be made to work with FF5. I'm hoping a Webvisum official will post to dispel rumors about abandoning the application. I will post any follow-up here.

The simplest way of getting to the "From" field in both OE and Outlook is by pressing alt and while that is held down, twice quickly the 1 key above the letters.

for any who need the information, if the shift control r does not give you a reply addressed to the Email sender there may be two reasons for this, one may well be that the person has his personnel settings for the list set to not give out his address to the general list; the other seems to be a failure of jaws due to who knows what criteria.
to take care of this, instead of hitting control shift and R, hit the applications key and enter on properties for the message. with the jaws cursor you can see there should be a return address in the general properties area/tab, you can also "virtualize " the screen and use your regular pc cursor to find, and in fact this is a better way to see it since you can also highlight and copy the return address and then paste it into a new message to send to the person who originally sent the message.
if this doesn't work, there is another way but that is a long to do, and I'll hand that one out to folks on a one on one message basis, all this is legal, but some folks do want there address kept as quiet as possible and giving away all my crafty little secrets is no fun! smile

No, Douglas. Insert-shift-r is reply to sender. It doesn't add the sender to the address book. At least, it doesn't in my experience, and I've never read anywhere that it's supposed to. This is the one part of his sad message that he got right. However, it doesn't work for many users, as has frequently been reported on this list.

That keystroke is a shortcut alternative to adding the original sender to one's address book and forwarding a list message to that sender. Thanks Shane.

Why should he hand things to you on a silver pladder? Read the from field, or even better, your oln this list, you use jaws, so instead of pressing ctrl+r press shift+JAWSKey+R and then compose your reply. Watch what happens. That's right, the list won't have to seee you wine, the original poster will see it. So, find a message from james, hit that keystroke, compose your message, send, and quit wining on this list. He's specifically asked it, multiple times, and this is getting oold. No wonder most of the blind community is jobless, most of them, want it all handed to them on a silver pladder just like mommy and daddy did for them as children. Shane, this was a politely stated request based on real problems people are having unsubscribing, as others are having in trying to get back on the list. I have written to James to suggest he provide his direct email address in link form on his posts. Otherwise, it's hard for people who have been away from the list to know how to contact him or Jessica, the other moderator.

Folks,
If you were subscribed to this list after the move, it was because your email address was on this list's previous incarnation, most likely over on freelists.org. That list was moved to a new location, which subsequently required a second move when that location became no longer an option. You have the option of unsubscribing, or asking me *off-list* to do so for you.
Complaining about being on the list, especially by way of posting messages to that list, does not a solution make.

Many people (including myself) have followed his instructions to unsubscribe
(opt-out) but continue to receive all messages. Asking folks to receive an
indefinite amount of spam so that others can have continuity of posts seems
like a raw deal. Spammer can make a similar rationalization, some people like my posts so screw everyone else.

James,
Your opt-out unsubscribe process is not working. Instead, please send
out
an email asking who would like to subscribe in future (opt-in), clear
out
your subscriber database, and only add back in those who ask to be
added.
I'm marking all these emails as spam but because incoming messages come from many different users, even marking them as spam isn't working. Your maillist is acting like a spambot and you're not recognizing the impact you're having on others.

Searching with Thunderbird and JFW11
Hi. How do I search for a message when in Thunderbird with JFW11? I know that I do ctrl+k, type my search in the edit field, and it does its thing. But I haven't a clue about how to get to the results, then read a found message if I need to. Thanks for any insights, Dani

Thank you mozilla for caring so much to protect the internet
from us dangerous blind hackers/spammers. I wouldn't get my hopes up for a screen reader to have it built in since if they can do that, the real spammers would be able to do it to so that would defeat the whole need for capcha.

Good morning. I'm sending this to you individuals because the JFW
list seems to be down right now.

Can you suggest a way to get a new plugin for Webvisum to download
again to Firefox 3? I'm already logged in, but can't find a link to download the plugin. I erroneously sent a request for an invitation but discovered that's not necessary if I know my username and password.
Thanks for your assistance.

list seems to be down right now.

Can you suggest a way to get a new plugin for Webvisum to download
again to Firefox 3? I'm already logged in, but can't find a link to download the plugin. I erroneously sent a request for an invitation but discovered that's not necessary if I know my username and password.
Thanks for your assistance.

I think you have a big event each year showing all the latest technology. I wonder if anyone is going, who knows we may hear that Jaws 13, is being given as a gift to all who have battled with Jaws 12! Ok joke over, we have a similar event in uki in Birmingham and your eric Damery often comes to make a speech. 2 friends of mine both jaws users go, and normally say what is interesting, but very expensive! However this year may be different. I expect we may hear about Windows 8. I hope James will not consider this off topic, I merely want to cheer the list up and say Happy holiday on July 4th regards Dorothy

compatibility view in IE 9
Happy Independence, everyone.
I am using the latest update with JAWS 12 with a Windows 7 Home Premium pc, and Internet Explorer version 9 for my browser.
I am trying to best understand how to use the Compatibility View.
What exactly does it do?
Do I need to go and hit spacebar when each page loads to utilize the feature? In other words is it an ON and OFF switch that I need to launch each time?
I have noticed there is improved navigation to the text I want to read on some pages when I use it. I am curious to hear how others are using this and to learn from your experience.
At first I heard about this from JAWS speaking about it, and thought that once I would hit spacebar to turn it on, that would be it. But I am starting to think otherwise.
Thanks. Rik

Re: [Bulk] Google Tool Bar
I'm using XP Pro and IE7. For me, usually it's in the Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs. If not, then from within IE use:
Tools/Manage Add-Ons/Enable or Disable Add-Ons. Then tab to a combo box and select show Add-Ons currently installed in Internet Explorer. Then tab to a list and locate the Google Toolbar. Then tab to a radio button to select disable. then tab to OK.

need help for a friend please
Hi, can anyone please tell me what my friend can do to help get her document back, here is what she wrote me: thanks if any light can be shed upon this: sugar she wrote: Sugar, HELP!!!!! During this year 2011, since January the 1st; I have felt led to compile some promises that God had spoken to me in His Word each day. Sometimes, I would just type prayers, or Scripture with me writing comments after them. I should have called this document "A JOURNEY WITH GOD instead of "GOD'S PROMISES TO ME." Actually, the document has just been called God.dox. I am not sure why Window's didn't grab all that title, but it did not. Anyway, I had just finished typing this morning, what I felt God was speaking and was trying to save it with "control key and the letter s." However, I accidentally pushed, I believe the alt key along with the letter A. No big deal, it just simply took me back up to page 1; at least that's what it read. So, I simply pushed the "Control S" to save and then closed the document with "alt F-4." However, just this afternoon, when I opened the document, it is totally blank. I cannot seem to find the 161 pages of document!! Do you know what might have happened to it?? I just feel bad about this. Please let me know your opinion.
