Off hand, I can't recall a more problematic JFW rollout than version 12 and
all its subsequent updates. The patches to fix this or that issue and not to
mention the over all performance issues some of which have somewhat been
addressed, but others are still waiting to get fixed.

I'm downloading the update out of habit, but considering that there's not
much addressed here, I'm not sure I'm going to bother installing it. I'll
maybe give it a shot to see if by any chance over all performance is better
then those other v12 editions from earlier in the year.

Re: A reminder: can you list members *not* read? Digest

Marc Rocheleau <marcrocheleau82@...>

Well considering I removed myself from this list several weeks ago, I
thought it was spam and saw no reason to read the admin's original
e-mail. It's not a matter of being incompetent, why would we be
keeping our eyes peeled for such a message if we weren't expecting one
to come our way? I thought the admin's original e-mail was spam and
deleted it -- kinda hard to follow the instructions in it when that
happens.

I get a lot of e-mail and generally skim through it and delete what
seems like spam so I missed the admin's original message. I gather,
from some responses, that he said there was a mistake and deleted
subscribers have to contact him off-list to be removed? Either way, I
don't see what's wrong with voicing our frustrations when we took the
necessary steps to be removed from this list just a few weeks ago.
It's annoying and, while obviously a mistake, it shouldn't have
happened.

And you're the one complaining to the entire list about the
complainers -- what does that make you? No more competent than I, as
far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure why you felt the need to be rude
and insult people but um... good job?

1. the issue at hand was of no fault of the list owner.
2. your frustrations are totally offf topic and to not relate to jaws. So
your violating list rules.
3. it's not our problem when you actually don't read e-mail, so again stuff
it.
4. per canadian and united states law there are instructions at the bottom

ever so childish wining.

Re: A reminder: can you list members *not* read? Digest

Adrian Spratt

Marc,

Consider the situation from the moderator's point of view. Twice in a short
period of time, events outside his control have forced him to migrate the
list. Both times he alerted the list members to what was happening. Both
times when it turned out unsubscribed members had been inadvertently
re-subscribed, he provided a simple mechanism for unsubscribing. Instead of
taking this simple step, a number of former listers have posted angry
messages.

Most people would view what James does as a thankless task. I doubt it
provides him with any income. Probably the opposite.

I urge you and any other dissatisfied former listers to vent your annoyance
simply by unsubscribing.

Jaws and WordPress

Cliff Self

I just had a new website created for me using WordPress:

http://cliffself.net/

I'm supposed to be able to edit it myself, but can't even get past the login
screen. It's readable with the Jaws cursor, but the forms mode doesn't come
on to let me fill in the fields. So I have two questions and a request.
Are there scripts for WordPress? I couldn't find them with a google search.
Do higher versions of Jaws work better with it? I'm using Jaws 10 but am
paid up through 12. And here's my request. Is there anyone who knows
WordPress who would be willing to give me a quick tutorial over the phone?

thanks,

Cliff

All,

due to a situation beyond my control, we had to perform an
emergency list
migration to a new server. This required I pull the old
subscription from a
not completely up to date source. For that reason, there may
be individuals
on this list who don't wish to be. If you're one of them, I
appologise in
advance. Please email me off-list (james@...) and
we'll get you
removed ASAP.

Re: A reminder: can you list members *not* read? Digest

Cal <yesitscal@...>

Hi! I'm getting all these mails from the JFW site when previously I haven't. I noticed last night (and just confirmed again) that I can't get to the JFW webpage, so I wonder if this has something to do with all the E-mails I've been getting? I do recall a week or so ago that somebody was pretty pissed that he couldn't unsubscribe and threatened holy hell if he wasn't taken off the list. I wonder if this is the result?

I'm not sure why you felt the need to be rude
and insult people but um... good job?

Please stop cluttering the list with useless non jaws related garbage, and
actually listen to what the administrators are saying, and contact them
*directly* and stop hogging the list with crap not meant for said list.
Thank you for your consideration and for maybe this time using the brains to

JAWS 12.0.1167

Dave...

Is it just me, or did FS just release a minor update?

Here's the list of things they fixed, and looks like the sports fans will
have to wait longer for ResearchIt to be fixed.

Enhancements in JAWS 12.0.1167 (June 2011)

The following is a list of items addressed or added between the final JAWS
12.0.1161 and

the JAWS 12.0.1167 posting.

list of 4 items
. Resolved an issue with the People Search lookup source in Research It
failing if the
results contained only one item.
. Addressed an issue reported in Microsoft Word 2010 when navigating in a
numbered list.
The braille cursor will now always be at the same location as the
active cursor.
. Resolved an issue where information was not being shown on the braille
display as
expected in some applications.
. JAWS now correctly speaks the buttons on the
https://giftstest.rehab.state.al.us/bepnet/main/beplogin.aspx Web page.
list end
