Re: trouble with jaws and windows mail program closing all the time
I reported it in the beta but obviously they decided to ignore the report.
I was disappointed it was not addressed as it is a core component of Windows.

Determine JFW language via script?
Hi guys,
I have stopped using JFW actively as my main screenreader, but I still greatly love and respect this software (no, I don't use NVDA).
I am writing a script for JAWS which might be very useful

Hi,
I think what’s actually happening is that focus moves to the Edge menu control. If so, press F6 to move to the document window.
Cheers,

Re: Can no longer close menus in Edge
Thanks, Debby, but no to both.
The alt keys does work with tab to move focus to another window. Also, I just tried closing the menu with the other alt key. Still no luck.
Here's the current status.

I should have thought of that, but no, it doesn’t solve it. I just tried.

Re: Can no longer close menus in Edge
Hi Adrian,
I am taking a wild guess, but have you tried Control + W to close it?
Also, I am wondering if it is appearing because for some reason when you press alt + tab, the tab key isn't working.

You will need to review the jaws settings to change the keyboard layout.
I suspect there is a layered key stroke combination to switch between the different keyboard layout

It’s not JAWS. Thank you for responding, but I ended up calling Microsoft and it was an error with Word 2016. James repaired and updated. We’re good to go now.
Thank you.

Shirley and all,
A week or two ago, my sighted wife happened to be alongside me when I restarted my computer. It was taking a long time. She saw a message saying that Office 2016 was being updated.
