It was actually my sighted friend, Markus Johnson (yes, that's "Markus" with a "K", not a "C"), who suggested I run Windows 7 in its default state with updates turned off. I'm with you on that

I agree with Brian, Windows 7 is a thing of the past and you really should make the jump to Windows 10 whenever it is that you get a new computer. Besides the fact that Windows 7 will have no more

You would need to get another product key to put Windows 7 on more
than one computer. Windows XP is very dangerous to have out there.

The end of support for Windows 7 is also now only 8 months away, so it makes no sense, if one is going to continue into the future under the Windows ecosystem, to use Windows 7.

You should not be using Windows xp on the internet! Someone could put
a key logger and know everything you type. There are no security
updates for xp and its the wild west out there.

I'm trying that, but it seems to want to make the Control, Shift and Right Alt keys work together as a trio. What's up with that, I wonder?

I don't have Windows 10. Just Windows XP 32 Bit on two machines (one desktop and one laptop), and Windows 7 64 Bit on a third machine (a desktop).
