If you're spending money for new hardware, treat it to some new software--upgrade your JAWS, or learn NVDA. Windows 7 is so no more.

Yeah, I have this problem more with 2019 than I did with 2018.
Maybe that problem came with the 2018 update that was fairly recent?

Windows 10 allows one to boot up Narrator during setup, but personally, I'd still use the talking WinPe for Windows 10 at:

I've gone and set up the install with the USB disk. I do not have a large
enough DVD to put Windows 10 on so to be able to boot from the dvd drive.

Windows seven is also about to go out of support so by January, there won't
be any more security updates. Your going to need to either get the
subscription if you want to stick with jaws or switch to

Ok, as long as it works for you, good. Just know there are lots of
potential problems waiting in the wings as both JAWS and the OS's move
forward.

How much do you use Jaws then? You could get by with NVDA or even Narrator for that matter unless you are doing things that Jaws scripts are needed for.

I run it without updates, since that breaks compatibility with JAWS 15. I know
that seems strange, but it works just fine for me.

1. It's the one that I'm used to after migrating from Windows XP which had a
bunch of blue screen errors.
2. I have JAWS 15 which is the latest one my Software Maintenance Agreement

He was talking about Jaws 2018 not 18 and there is no 19 or 20, just 2019 and 2020. I know you probably mean that, but 18 and 2018 is certainly potentially confusing and going forward I think it is
