Hi I had to uninstall and reinstall office. That’s what fixed it. I was using an insider build, but once I went to the official version, the issues were all fixed.

Open Excel. Hit alt+f and arrow up to options. Arrow down to advanced, tab to "edit directly in cells, and uncheck it by hitting space bar. Tab to ok and hit enter.
