Good luck! I had much trouble with turning it off. Nothingworked. I felt like a Christian scientist with appendicitis. I decided not to use it any more.

I think it would be easier to press Windows+r, type narrator and press
the enter key. to get rid of Narrator, just press the exit button in the
Narrator window, and then press space bar on the yes

try pressing alt+shift+apostrophe. this works in Excel 2010 and
presumably 2013, 2016 and 2019. but not sure if the keystroke works in
Excel 365.

Here is what the Microsoft site says:
On a keyboard, press the Windows logo key + Enter.
This will both start and stop narrator.
The control key was added in Windows 10.

Control+Windows-key+Enter.
That is the toggle for Narrator, whether you start it from the edit box or if you start and stop it with that keystroke.
