Sounds great but how do you do this?
If I enable Windows Sticky keys this does not seem to apply to the insert key – at least here. It affects keys like control and alt etc but definitely not the

If you enable the insert key sticky mode, it will make this easy as pie, you need only press and release the insert/JAWS key, then press/hold the windows key and tap F4.

Re: unload and reload Jaws?
Interesting, I just tried it again, this time counting, and it took around 8 seconds total from the time I pressed the key command to when JAWS started up again. That is quite a wide difference.

I just tried the jaws + windows key + F4, and it works well. It does not give you the usual screen when exiting JAWS, which was at first confusing because it takes 5-10 seconds before speech stops.

The Control Alt J still works for me when I want to load Jaws. However, I have noticed when pressing Insert Windows J, it hesitates to reload. Sometimes, it doesn’t reload.

Jaws key plus F4 simply unloads Jaws.
However if you review the thread you will find that we have discovered thanks to Bill that Jaws plus Windows key plus F4 does indeed restart Jaws though this

Norma,
Press alt-delete (on the six-pack, and maybe also the numpad) for JAWS to give you position details in inches. If it doesn’t speak in inches but center meters, post again because

I am confused about the suggestion. The JAWS key and F4 just does the uninstall, not starting again. Am I missing something?

Enabling Jaws to speak proofreading info

I’m using J2020 and Word 365. I need to know, in inches, where a line of text starts. For example, If a character were right in the center, Jaws should tell me 4.25”.

Hmm, I have always unloaded jaws by jaws key f4. To reload, I just go to the search box in the start menu and type jaws press enter.
