Actually, so long as you purchased the book, there is no copyright violation to convert it for your own use.
If you then share that file with someone who has not purchased the book, you are violating

I don't know about Dean but reading a Kindle book converted to ePub in Voice Dream Reader provides much more functionality and voices than reading it with the Kindle app. I don't read that many Kindle

I read a lot with speech, and with every page flip there's a small jolt. I'd rather read on one device, phone for speech, Mini for braille, rather than having to use two at a time.

In order for Codex to successfully convert Kindle books to plain text, you need to install Version: 1.17.1 (44183) of the Kindle for PC program on your computer and set it not to automatically

Well, the deal apparently is that you can't use any version higher than 1.17 with Codex. Old versions are readily available. I use 1.14.243, but apparently 1.16 works too. Here's a page to find them:

Like David, I have no desire whatsoever to read on my pc. Unfortunately, it is an either/or situation with Kindle. Either you read books on the computer, in which case you can use the latest Kindle
