Using XP and JFW 11, I find that Jaws sometimes reads from a different app than the one I'm on, or reports blank when there's actually something there. This mostly happens when I go to the Jaws

I think my first JFW was 1.21, after some years with JAWS and DOS. I really do believe, though, that JFW is reading with much less accuracy/clarity than it used to.

I'd ask myself what else happens at the same time every day. For example, are you running anything automatically in the background--antivirus, antispyware, software updates, etc?

Have you tried,
Assuming your using jaws 12,
Jaws option/utilities/sound card sub menu,
And choose your sound card,

USB Sound Card
It seems that at approximately 3:00 CDT every day, the USB card into which I plug in my headset goes silent while I am using JAWS.
I have found that all I have to do is unplug the card, tap the ESCAPE
