Re: Need help choosing printer/scanner
Good points, I don’t have an all-in-one but most should offer twain drivers, which work better because they are simple and straight forward and do not require any other software.

Thanks for reminding me about the TWAIN drivers. Yes, Open Book requires them, as best I remember.

Shirley,
If you want to use it for Open Book, you’ll want to be sure you know which drivers it uses and what OpenBook requires. I use Kurzweil 1000 and the scanner must run with TWAIN drivers to

Thank you, Joe and Richard, for responding. I’ll consider your ideas. I do have sighted help to set it up—thankfully!
I’ll let you know what I end up with.

I don’t have a specific model to recommend, just

I think that the safe mode feature did a registry hack to get the
sound driver into safe mode, so maybe you could find that hack and and
maybe Jaws would work in safe mode after all.

I would suggest that you purchase a laser printer. Unlike an ink jet the nozzles do not clog since it uses a different Process. A black and white model costs about as much as an ink jet if you do not

Need help choosing printer/scanner
Good morning list,
My printer has finally given up. Can anyone please give me a suggestion of an easy-to-use printer and scanner that works well with JAWS? I also need one that will work well

Re: Moving Between Sections in a Word Document
When quick keys is enabled in JAWS you can press S to move to the next section and shift-s to move to the previous section.
Pressing insert-z toggles Quick Keys on and off.

Re: I can't figure out how to set up the brave browser. help please.
It sounds like you somehow got to the ad-ons page. You should be able to hit ctrl-l and type in whatever url you want to go to. The only real setup is whether you want to set as default

Describing the contents of a region?
Is there a command or script that would make JAWS describe the contents of a region? For example, it might say that the main region has 3 headings, 4 lists, 10 links, and so on. It could save time
