It works... Well-ish with 14. I've seen better. I ended up finding a
workaround for the time being. One program does not a reason for upgrading
make.

No, not weird at all. I am also using XP and I still get numbered Google search results with JAWS 9 and IE 8. But with Firefox, I have never gotten numbered results.
