Mark, I think if you run the jfw.exe file, you will eventually be given an
option to perform a repair of Jaws.

I just tried it with Windows 8.1, and it did not work. The
notifications check box did not display.
Also, JawsKey plus F-11 does not work right in Windows 8.1

Refreshing the screen doesn't help in this case! Alt tabbing away and back
again, or pressing the alt key twice seems to be the only way to bring focus
back to the email message.
