Re: Just curious -- what happened to Windows 9?
Simple branding. Windows 9 would have been the next in line, but MS just
decided to name it Windows 10 to highlight a large jump forward or
something.

Windows 8 happened to Windows 9. It was so bad MS decided to skip 9 altogether.

I wonder that, but heard someone call 10 8.2 as a joke.
Best to you from,

Hi,
Windows 10 is indeed Windows 9. Many people thought Microsoft will release
Windows 9, but Windows 10 has replaced it, so no Windows 9.
Cheers,
Joseph

Just curious -- what happened to Windows 9?
Hi,
I'm still on Windows 7. I hear a lot of talk about Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Was Windows 9 a bust or something?
Thanks, Keith

Re: system tray hidden icons
Here's a way to show nitification area icons in Windows 7. It probably works
in Windows 8, too, and I think it's more straightforward than the methods
I've seen described so far on this thread.

Re: How do I do a screen capture on a laptop?
Yes. That might be a worthwhile feature for a future upgrade. It might help if the key combo was standardized across different makes and models, as JAWS has a built-in laptop layout.

Kevin, if you are using Outlook 2013, you can access the options ribbon,
after you have opened a new message . You press the Control plus N key to
start a new message, and then press your Alt key.
