Yes, I know my HP laptop offers that double tap toggle option. For me, it is the meaty part of the side of my thumbs that often causes unwanted issues wit the touchpad. Took me a while to figure

Alt down arrow works in this case. Sometimes JAWS focus can be a little slow, so if you don’t hear anything, use the insert up arrow to read the current line of text to be sure focus is

Will give it a try, but at least for me, using braille, I lost the ability to find footnote numbers in documents and thus proceed with reading them.
