It works with JAWS 2018, as well.
It would be a surprising change if they removed it altogether, but I did say the position of the option might be version dependent. It's usually very near the bottom

If you are hearing alt+windows+q when pressing the insert key, you have issues that likely won't be resolved via email.
I think perhaps it is time to call Microsoft Accessibility 800-936-5900

If you have JAWS set to not display in its own window, then no, it won't
come up when you move between windows, as there isn't a JAWS window open
unless you open the settings centre, or some other

You can go to your JAWS menu with insert J or get there from the desk top.
Up arrow to about and hit enter. That will tell you how many upgrades you
have left, the current version that is running and

The exact steps are:
Insert+j, up arrow twice to About and hit enter.
Or, the easy way in my mind is insert+j then control+insert+v
Either method gets you what u want.

Insert+j then up arrow does not work if you have Jaws in the System tray.
But, insert+j followed by control+insert+v works in any setup.
And, control+insert+v works in any and all programs.
