If the attachment is open in MS Word, that program protects you from opening a document sent to you by email. Because it is protected as screen reader does not have access to the text. To

the 20 digit authorization code should be written on the sleeve of the cd or maybe on the cd itself.
you also need to look in the about dialog box of jaws to retrieve the locking code for that

Thanks for the reply. yeah, I thought it was odd too that the auth number wasn’t on the CD case, she says it does have the serial number in brail and has had two sighted people check

I don’t remember all the details but it can be done from the Freedom authorization web site. You need to have the serial number when you go to that site and the locking code that is
