that is because you used the right Alt, which also is utilized as
AltGR by many languages. Either don't use the right Alt (too often) or
press it several times to get rid of this

Just to "complete the circle" you can use CTRL+O for Open just as you can use CTRL+S to Save. These are both commands of MS-Office programs, and probably a lot more, as hitting CTRL+S here in Chrome

That is indeed correct. I've been on "the other side" as a software developer (and doing technical support) and it is impossible to fix what is not reported and/or what you cannot replicate.
