I've kept the latest BlindTunes operating, but lately I'm starting to use
iTunes without it. Seems like iTunes is becoming more Windows-friendly, and
JAWS is catching up.

If the file opens up in adobe, you can save the file to your computer from there.
If you don’t want it to open up in adobe, you would need to right click or hit the application key

BlindTunes is no longer supported -- John Martyn gave it up years ago. I
doubt anyone is monitoring the DoItBlind website for BlindTune matters.

When I choose the link with the tab key and use the context menu, “Save as...” will open a download file dialogue for me to save the file wherever I want. The extension is PDF.

Chrome or no, this will end up being the solution to this issue. There are some very complex interactions between settings that are layered on top of one another.

By the way, even if a PDF file is opened within the browser, it must be downloaded to the local machine itself into a temp folder somewhere before that happens. That's why you can then save it

The problem is, Brian, that when I click the link, it doesn’t directly download. It automatically opens Adobe Reader DC, and puts the file into that app without first saving it in my downloads or
