I have noticed that issue on some pages. I am not sure if it is an Edge
issue or just a quirk with JAWS 2021.
If anybody finds out what it is, let us know. tThere are some sites that are
impossible to navigate.

I went to upgrade today and went through the help to check if there were any

I've noticed when attempting to fill out information when one plugs in one's
password and what not and goes to abuse the spacebar or enter key, it leaves

I'd start by grabbing a demo of a newer Jaws version.  Fact is, windows is evolving and using an old jaws on a newer version of windows could cause problems.

You need to check the box to Run Jaws from the system tray, There are several ways to do this, below are a couple.
1. A. From the Jaws screen press the, Alt Key, press enter on, Options, and press enter on, Basics.
B. From the desktop press, Insert + J, to bring up the Jaws screen, press the, Alt Key, press enter on, Options, and press enter on, Basics.
 
2. Tab several times to, Run Jaws from system tray, checkbox press the spacebar to check this, now tab to, Okay, and press enter save / close.

I've successfully downloaded and installed JAWS 2021 by going to JAWS 2020
help and checking for updates, where I found that there was one.  I haven't
found anything buggy, although there is one thing different that is a sort
of a minor annoyance.  The JAWS window is now in the group of open windows
when I Alt Tab through my open programs.  I was able to hide the JAWS window
a few versions ago and that setting carried over with subsequent versions,
but didn't with 2021.  Could someone remind me how to hide the JAWS window
again.  I have the box checked for running JAWS from the system tray.

Actually, Windows security is now more than able to handle your Window's security concerns.  Third party anti-virus programs can be more of a pain than a help in circumstances like this.

Step 5, tab to OK and press Enter to close Settings Center.

Note: The checkbox referenced in step 3 above is unchecked by

Like you, the sound card for my HP laptop was working fine with no problem, after I installed Windows 10. However, after about 3 months, for no reason, JAWS would stop speaking, audio files and audio in vidio files sometimes did not play at all or, they would play but, there would be little breaks of silence or, the audio would become choppy. since I installed Silenzio, there are times where JAWS will stop speaking for no apparent reason butthe the good thing is, all my audio files and audio in video files, so far, now play properly.
 
When I installed Windows 10 on the other computers we have, before installing JAWS, I used Narrator to installed Silenzio on them, to hedge my bets to potentially avoid this problem occurring on those systems as well.
 
I never needed a program like Silenzio using Windows XP or Windows 7 because, I never had the type of audio problems in the way I have with Windows 10.

However, I noticed that the download from Sourceforge was spelled with a z not a c.  the one with the z is some Italian software that hasn’t been updated since 2013.

The one Mike is posting is spelled with a c and is likely what folks are looking for.

Hello,

Do any of you notice this behavior when using JAWS 2021? I’m writing a document, and sometimes, when I need to backspace, JAWS doesn’t repeat the character that’s been deleted through that method—the backspace key. It’s happened about three times now, and I have my key echo set to words. However, I don’t think this should have any problem, as for now in the currently typed message, the backspace works fine/as usual. This is the only bug I’ve found so far with the new JAWS.

the side effect is that some events will trigger a reduction in
speech volume, which can be troublesome if you’re only using a
laptop’s speakers. I compensated for this dip in volume by using
powered, wired external speakers.
