I use Eloquence  with pronunciation  set to some.

As far as I can tell I don’t seem to have this problem  with for example Voiceover on the Mac so am puzzled as to why this should be an insurmountable technical challenge for VFO.

Good point.

David, which synth do you use?

Also, maybe it is your punctuation level settings that might be the issue.

I use Eloquence, and I use the default settings for punctuation, and I

haven't had to deal with the issues you have.

This really isn't an issue that VFO can address, these decisions are

made deep in the synthesizer logic. The only thing the dictionary does

is that when certain text is encountered specified other text is fed

to the synthesizer in its place.

Trying to broaden that so that the program replaces near-miss text

with the dictionary entry would be fraught with error.

However in practice this is not enough, because if Shostakovic is followed

I am using the latest version of Thunderbird and the latest version of Jaws 2021. When I am in the list of messages and I hit the delete key sometimes the next message is highlighted and jaws will announce the message. However, often after I hit the delete key Jaws is silent and I have to use the up/down arrow keys to know if the message was actually deleted. Is there a Thunderbird or Jaws setting I can change for the inbox list to read correctly all of the time?

In a recent JAWS update, I read that insert+shift+2 will temporarily change punctuation through all, some, most, and none. When I use the keystroke in most programs, it works just fine. However, in Excel when I want to temporarily hear *all punctuation, pressing
insert+shift+2 sets monitor cell 2. Is there a quick easy way to
temporarily change punctuation in Excel?

Note, that if you follow the nuclear option and dump all your settings, you will have to reinstall any custom scripts as well.

But, the good news, is after dropping the bomb on the settings the Windows Calculator works again as expected.  Was it worth it?  Probably not.

Hey guys.

If you don’t like or can’t use the Windows 10 calculator for whatever reason, just download the classic one from Winaero. Yes, the same people who brought you “the Tweaker”.

I personally love the Win 10 calc because of all its extended modes.

Something to try is to take the calc.exe and any other associated calc files in c:\windows\ from a windows 7 system and see if they work in windows 10.

I used to do this with some programs that Microsoft stopped including.

I just put the calc.exe from my windows 7 into my open drive, and if anyone wants to try it on windows 10, here's a link:

I didn't find any associated calc files in c:\windows, so maybe it will work as is.

I realize this does not answer your question, but it does present another option should you prefer it.  I am not a huge fan of the Win10 calculator app, preferring the more "old-school" calculator.  I archived the installer for Microsoft Calculator Plus on my Google Drive quite a while back.

It's another option, and it neither removes nor replaces the Win10 Calculator App when installed.  It's what I keep on my taskbar as the calculator of choice.

This one is under the Navigation Quick Key manager … exactly where no logic of mine would have put it.

I would think it would at least also be in the keyboard manager, after all, it concerns a keyboard command … but I guess I expect too much.

Hi, Jessica. What is the exact URL for the website where you are trying to manage your devices?

Also, if Firefox isn't cooperating, why not try Microsoft Edge. I have found that sometimes, Microsoft Edge is more up-to-date than Firefox. Sometimes Firefox is more up-to-date, as in the case where no other browser could access PayPal except for Firefox.
