Eudora works with JAWS2020, except for the graphics that should be 'read', 'unread', 'forwarded', and so on. Our ISP finally stopped supporting the TLS protocol about a month ago, so we had to give it up. But JAWS wasn't the problem.

Hi everyone,

Is there a remote access software program that works well with JAWS?
I know most programs give you a video graphic of the other person's
screen. Is there a way to hear the other person's screen so that you
can navigate it with JAWS? I know JAWS Tandem does this, but I need a
program where I can also access the computer of someone without JAWS.

Not with Team Viewer, the Jaws at the user end reads the window that's the
remote computer.
I could use it on a sighted person's computer.

Hi, Mike. Try the following,

1. Open Outlook.

2. Go to a message which has the smilies.

3. Type the following keystrokes once the message is open,

ALT plus H, followed by A O C

This will bring you to the message encoding menu. Make sure that Unicode (UTF-8) is checked‑

This should give you the correct encoding to translate these characters correctly. If not, try one of the other encoding options, such as Automatic.

For that matter, you could run NVDA on both machines and use that, it's free

Jaws, use your code and just have it not start at login or for that6

Yes, you can code Python using JAWS. I don’t do such things, but
apparently the biggest trick is keeping track of indentation. A free
text editor called EdSharp is designed to do this, among lots of other
things. If you want it, I will try to come up with the GitHub link.

There’s also the programmingblind mailing list on freelists.

Hi,

I have several friends and coworkers who are teaching themselves
Python.  I haven’t done coding since college in the early 1990’s, and
that was just a required computer science class.  Is Python a language I
could potentially learn and use with JAWS?  If so, anyone have any
recommended resources for self-learning?  I just saw a Groupon deal for
a Python class, but I have no idea if the online learning tool would be
accessible; It’s only $17, so I might try it.
