At the bottom of every email from groups.io theres a mute topic link if you dont wish to receive that particular topic
And You can of course edit your subscription options to filter out unwanted topics you dont want to receive, the link is also at the bottom of every mail from groups.io to edit your subscription options
Learn how to use them,
Or leave group

Moderators, I had 56 unread emails this morning. The majority of them were inappropriate for this discussion list.
Yes, James I used my delete button for 10 minutes... what a waste of my time.
Discussion lists are like a library to me. You Go to the travel topic of books to get travel info for a trip. You go to the political science topic for those subjects.
I am here to learn about JFW. That's the way this discussion list has been for a long, long time.
Folks, I am all in favor of 'legal free speech. Do us all a favor and take it to another discussion list, please.
Thanks.

Problem with Forgot my password with Gmail
David Kingsbury
Hi all,
I am trying to help a person I am training create a new Gmail password, but when he tries to log in, and uses the forgot my password button, he is asked to put in the last password he remembered. If he doesn’t remember anything, he gets totally stuck. This is an idiotic Catch 22. And the only way you can access a real human being with Google is to log in first. Any ideas on how to get around this?
Thanks, David

If you haven't created a password for your Groups.io accounts, you will need to do that, which is offered when you activate the mute topic link. So far, I've done that with the parler and the what's this have to do with JFW messages, and now I will do that with the hey moderators ... Neither the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store offer the parler app. AWS, Amazon Web Services, has canceled the contract with Parler so there is no expected return to service until Tuesday afternoon, 01-12-2021. With a political agenda being carried out we as screen readers will suffer. Until tomorrow don't bother but Parler.com is a manageable system to use. You will need sighted assistance with the sign up process as there is a captcha. A few months ago support could have assisted but I suspect they are very busy now days. For the record, I have found more support in furthering accessibility and equity from those that are supportive of the main-stream ideas found over there as opposed to the crowd that considers you & I a bother.

I was able to get someone to change the operating system so that the function keys are no longer mapped the way they were originally. Now my alt F4 does work, but none of the other function keys seem to work automatically. Can anyone help me with next steps to get the function keys to map to the jaws commands? I am also not used to the laptop layout. Yesterday when I set up my Outlook 365 account, it wanted a password, and then the laptop told me that the caps lock key was engaged. So I am not sure if the password I typed in wasin caps OR not, but it looks like when I try to put in that password, it is not working no matter what I try. Re: Is Windows Mail now working with JFW
David Griffith
The problem was that if you loaded Windows Mail whilst Jaws was running Mail would close unexpectedly after the review of just one or two messages in the inbox. There would be no error message – Mail would simply disappear. This was only a problem if Jaws was running. Mail would worked as expected perfectly with either Narrator or NVDA. For me this problem was not machine specific as it was occurring on both my laptop and desktop machines. However Support had recognised the issue last week and said that they were escalating it to the software team. Whatever the fix was it has been delivered at lightning speed for once. David G.

As I've known people I know get lost down those rabbit holes of conspiracy theories and imagined grievances, I actually have poked around 8chan and before that, 4chan and all these Gab and now Parler Twitter alternatives to try to understand the why and how. These corners of the Internet attract a certain type of unhealthy and delusional discourse. I wouldn't dare join Parler because I’m rooted in reality and not a QAnon or stop the steel crazy, but even that aside, that platform has some wild privacy terms. Might as well kiss your identity and or privacy goodbye.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
There's some really vile stuff on those places. To think that they're going to care about making their sites and apps more accessible for a disabled user is laughable and naïve in the extreme. Like come on man. Mass shootings have been inspired and coordinated on these sites. Gab is basically neo Nazi Twitter. Parler's filling up with Q refugees. Like they're going to care about making captcias and buttons accessible. Again, folks attracted to those shadowy corners of the net are doing everyone else a favor by telling on themselves. Cristóbal
