Did it happen after you updated? Could be that 13.0.638 is the issue.

Jeff, if you think you've accidentally installed Google Chrome, you might
want to confirm and then remove it via the control panel. Are you familiar
with that method?

just says "blank" that is basicly what it's doing.

Re: JFW and dragon...

Marquette, Ed <Ed.Marquette@...>

OK.
I was using JAWS 12 and Dragon 10. They work fine together. You do not need J_SAY. You do need to know about some specific settings that make it work much better. Most are intuitive, and you can usually make an educated guess.
The most important thing to remember is to run Naturally Speaking from the system tray. That is essential -- at least in Naturally Speaking 10.
I installed Naturally Speaking 11 about a week ago; however, when I tried to run it, I got a "system corrupted" error. So, I cannot talk much about Naturally Speaking 11.
I have to wait until one of our IT types are available. Our system is so locked down that only an administrator can install programs, and even thence, each EXE and each DLL has to be approved.
The security inmates are running the asylum here.
I'll report on this list my experience with Naturally Speaking, once it is properly installed, and I'll also offer some suggestions about settings.

Since installing JAWS 13, when switching from my husband's identity in

Re: [Bulk] JAWS 13.0.638

Dave...

Lori,

If you have the restore feature enabled, then you will have a restore point
automatically created when you installed the JAWS 13.0.638 update. Use that
to go back.

If not, then launch an older JAWS version or Narrator and uninstall JAWS 13,
then reinstall with the 13.0.527 update.

I've reported this and it's been confirmed by FS.

while using Windows 7 and IE7:

"
My bad experience was with a web site where I had the "Remember me on this
computer" feature enabled at the logon. Normally I hear my user name in the
edit field when opening such web pages.

With this last update of JAWS (and with no other versions before) I heard a
reading of the lines of one of the underlying script files read on and on
and on. The username was actually there, but JAWS was off reading something
completely wrong. The offending text string was no where on the screen -- it
was just being fed into the synthesizer.
"

I have also experienced a similar problem with JAWS reading some sort of
script in the edit field of username areas, but it also extends to some
search boxes for me. I am using Windows Vista and IE8.

How can I go back to JAWS 13.0.527? Silly me didn't make a restore point on
my computer, so I hope there is a way within JAWS, else I'll be going back
to my old JAWS 10, until FS fixes this latest bug.

Hi JAWS Users Again

Again I ;am using JAWS 12 with Word 2007 on Windows 7.

I use the Mark feature while writing this Novel.
TheSet Mark command is: Control Windows Key and K.
To go to the Mark I use Windows Key K.
When I go to the mark and use an arrow key to read the line I am on, the
cursor moves to the Top of the document, which can be a jump of 170 pages.
I have found that pressing the space bar prevents this from happening, so I
use the back space key to get rid of the space.

Is this a JAWS Bug? or is their a setting or have I done something that I am
unaware of to cause this?
John

Dave...

John,

Seems to work with JAWS 13. Perhaps something they broke and fixed again?

First press insert+1 on the number row to turn on training mode.
Then type Shift+Alt+L and see if it's a recognized keystroke.

If not, then it may have accidentally been left off the keyboard manager
list.

Hi JAWS Users

I am using JAWS 12 and Word 2007 on a Windows 7 64 bit system.

I am writing a novel using Word, and the Alt Shift L command no longer
works.

I am forced use the Quick Keys and the letter M to do this function, and I
know that F7 will also work. But the Alt Shift L was more efficient.
Is this a bug in JAWS or is it some kind of setting?
