Ok John. It appears it used to be possible. Was looking for tips on recording Itunes stations. An older post on some forum said to add a station to a playlist then look at it's properties to find out the url so it could be opened directly in TR.

Adding a radio station to a playlist doesn't appear to be possible at this

can click on some links including keyboard shortcuts and accessibility but
the screens ironically are mostly blank with Jaws.

Re: amazon.com Jaws 11

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

have you signed up for an account?
The process is similar to most sites where you can buy things. Find the item you want, click on buy, or add to cart, or whatever the link says. When you're done, you want to "check out".
If you haven't signed up for an account yet, it'll probably ask you for all your details - shipping info, payment info etc.

Anyway, this isn't really a jaws issue, unless of course you're asking how to navigate around a web page.

This is to reply to those on the current thread about using ITunes.
I personally do not care for the ITunes that much. Although I have also not really tried that hard.
I have read things about consumer protection that concern me.

I have been using Media Monkey for my media database program.
www.mediamonkey.com

This program is pretty great, powerful and versatile, but it does not use keyboard shortcuts as well as I would like. It is free, or you can purchase an inexpensive Gold version for lifetime of upgrades. After adjustments, I have been able to use it pretty well with JAWS, though I could use some tips from more powerful JAWS users.

I have been using Windows Media Player for ripping music to my library.

However, since getting a Windows 7 machine, I find I am not yet comfortable with how to navigate in the newer version 12 of Windows Media Player. so I have been looking for other CD extractor programs, ones that have very good metadata sources to find as much detail as possible. The 2 that I am running now on a trial basis are listed below. they both seem to work pretty well with JAWS.

DBpoweramp -
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/cd-ripper.htm

Easy CD-DA Extractor
http://www.poikosoft.com/

If anyone has knowledge or experience using these programs, especially with JAWS, I would like to hear your comments or for you to contact me off list.

Thanks.

Yes, agree. Aside from syncing my iPod to my books and music libraries, I
now use iTunes for ripping all my CDs. It does a much better job of
organizing the tracks and their titles into sensible folders, and allows
easy editing of the album information prior to ripping. I could never get
that level of control with Windows Media Prayer. And iTunes with the
BlindTunes scripts is much more accessible than WMP.

I may even look into using iTunes to burn CDs some day, but for now use Nero
Express OEM or Express Burn from NCH. Both of these are very accessible to
JAWS.

Re: JFW 13 with Kindle for PC

I have version 1.3.0.

It's a bummer because it would be amazing to have access to Kindle books.
As things stand, I could read something I really need to read but have a
hard time putting up with the pauses for anything else.

Ralph,
I'm afraid there's not much you can do about Kindle for PC with
Accessibility Plugin to improve the speech. You only have control of the
speed of the speech and whether the speech is male or female. the OCR in
JFW 13 can read the pages of a book in the program, but since pages are
usually printed in columns, and Convenient OCR doesn't decolumnize the text,

JFW will just read across the columns. As far as I can determine, there
hasn't been an update in the program since January 2011. I have mine set to

update automatically, but I haven't received any notification that it has
been updated. Does the About dialog under your Help show any date later
than January?

Hi,

I have just installed Kindle for PC. I have figured out how to get a book
and read it. However, it seems to read in a very choppy manner. I'm not
sure if it's pausing between lines or sentences. I have speeded up the
speech rate but it is still irritatingly choppy. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ralph

ok next time, download the Windows installer, not the one intended for Apple Macintosh.

For example, if you're running Windows 7 x 64, you'll want to look for
"iTunes 10.5.1 for Windows (64-bit)"

This is to reply to those on the current thread about using ITunes.
I personally do not care for the ITunes that much. Although I have also not
really tried that hard.
I have read things about consumer protection that concern me.

I have been using Media Monkey for my media database program.
www.mediamonkey.com

This program is pretty great, powerful and versatile, but it does not use
keyboard shortcuts as well as I would like. It is free, or you can purchase
an inexpensive Gold version for lifetime of upgrades. After adjustments, I
have been able to use it pretty well with JAWS, though I could use some tips
from more powerful JAWS users.

I have been using Windows Media Player for ripping music to my library.

However, since getting a Windows 7 machine, I find I am not yet comfortable
with how to navigate in the newer version 12 of Windows Media Player. so I
have been looking for other CD extractor programs, ones that have very good
metadata sources to find as much detail as possible. The 2 that I am
running now on a trial basis are listed below. they both seem to work
pretty well with JAWS.

DBpoweramp -
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/cd-ripper.htm

Easy CD-DA Extractor
http://www.poikosoft.com/

If anyone has knowledge or experience using these programs, especially with
JAWS, I would like to hear your comments or for you to contact me off list.

Thanks.

Both of these are very accessible to
JAWS.
