Re: saved download

Harris, Robert <harris.robert@...>

Speech doesn't read the folders in my experience when you go through this process.
When yu go through folders JAWS seems to read nothing and trying to guess where your saving stuff to don't work because it saves it in a least expected area and even the search function won't find the document or download at times.

Is there a way to set a default or change one easily in Jaws 14.4004 Window 7?

Thanks, Judith

Re: saved download

Ann Byrne

It should be in
c:\users\computer name\downloads.

If your computer is named Judy, it would be in

c:\users\judy\downloads.

One way to find a file with windows 7 is

1. Press windows key+e (computer)
2. Press control+f (find)
3. type enough of the name to identify the file and press enter
4. tab three times to the list of results.
5. Read with insert+up arrow to hear information, including the location of the file.

good luck!

Instead of hitting enter on the download link, use the applications menu and arrow down to 'save target as'. There you can specify the file name and the location to save to.

I just went to FS reader and listened to the person narrate about training
materials. I got this machine from the MS society anfd they didn't install
the training CD with the program. Acorrding to the speaker I just heard
training materials from the web will not be installed because they are too
big. Does anyone know where I can go to read the training material on the
web? Thanks, Judith

The jaws related stuff should be in JAWS somewhere but there is a little inconsistency so best if you can not do a search and find your download. My add on still is setting up to save downloads and files to my flash drive or a special folder HELP!

Re: saved download

Harris, Robert <harris.robert@...>

If I can add value to this; I'm still having trouble with this myself where the folders are "hidden" when I save a file or a download I have a really difficult time putting the file/download where I want it to go (usually my flash drive).

Any help a big thank you and bark from Prince

All right, I went to freedom scientific and saved the download about jaws 14. Now for the elementary question of the year, where do I find it?
Thanks, Judith

Re: MS Office 2007

Ann Byrne

Go to JAWS. Alt-h for help. training is the first item in Help. Press enter to get to the list of training files. If there is an asterisk after the file name, you have to download it. Go to the update item in the help menu, and any eligible update will be listed. download to your little heart's content!

There is some explanation for Office 2007 in the training materials that
comes with JAWS. discussion of the ribbon, for example.
