Bill, you'd be absolutely correct 99 and 44 one-hundreths percent of the time.  But you can get Download and install links for preview cumulative updates and certain optional ones.  Right now on my 1909 machine there is an optional cumulative update sitting there in Download and install state, and I intend to skip it.

Always check to see what the update is before clicking a Download and install link, even though the vast majority of the time it will be a feature update.

Bill:

How exactly do I find this out?

Yesterday, I got some sort of an update to Windows version 1909, so I am assuming auto-updates is already turned on.

I guess I’m just thinking that Windows 10 version 2004 will come to my computer in time.

Don't force the issue.  Windows will send you the update in due time.  I don't know what criteria they use as to who and what computers get the updates but, if you haven't received the, 20H2, update yet Microsoft is finding a reason to not send you the update and updating prematurely could cause adverse reactions to your operating system or in other words,be a total pain in the ass!

And if things don't settle down, it will be important to know what update(s) were applied.  Presuming this is Windows 10, you can determine that in Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update Pane, using the View Update History button.  The most likely pertinent candidates are either under Feature Updates (less likely, but possible) or Quality Updates.  The "Successfully installed on" line will give you the respective dates.

Now, is that the home edition?  I scaled down to home and it cost me $165 Canadian.  Because I am registered with the Canadian National institute for the blind (CNIB) it made me tax exempt. Thus no taxes on the SMA. Now with all this subscription talk, it seems at $90 per year, it is cheaper to pay for 2 years of SMA at $165 rather then $180.

I called Freedom Scientific because the SMA page kept on resulting in an error for me when I entered my serial number. I got connected to a representative fairly quickly and she explained that since I had Fusion that it would cost me $270 for two more years of updates (for ZoomText, Fusion and JAWS). I just wanted to report this for anyone else who may be interested in how much it would cost others in my situation.

Get those SMAs before January 1st!

I still have one HP Envy laptop that has remained on Version 1909, and Windows Update is definitely not broken, as the 2020-12 cumulative update to version 1909 showed up for it either yesterday or today, I don't remember when I first saw it.

Two other HP laptops I have, including this one, went to 20H2 one month ago, tomorrow.  Feature Update roll outs are generally a months long affair and, in certain cases, this being one of them, a feature update may be skipped on a given machine.  I doubt that Envy will ever see Version 2004.

I hadn't known they changed the version number from 2004, so I've learned something today, which is good.

How does one tell what podcasts are downloaded from Itunes?

Podcasts are downloading on to my phone, but I’m unsure if they are also downloading to Windows.

If they were, what folder would they go to by default?

They do not appear to be in music\itunes media.

Also, when you search for a podcast using Leasey, is the podcast you download actually downloaded directly through ITunes, or from the podcaster’s web site?

Where do the files download to when you use Leaseycast?

Is there any way to get Leasey cast to download all available episodes or to subscribe to a podcast?

Also how do you navigate the library or library sidebar using Jaws, Leasey, or a combination?

So far, Leasey search is an amazing tool!

I’m not sure about the sorting with Outlook, but if you press control+3 to open the Contacts tab, then press alt+f

The first item is likely Open and export, hit enter.

Arrow down a couple of times to import/Export and hit enter.

Arrow up to Export to a file and hit enter.

It defaults to a comma delimited csv file, tab to next and follow the prompts.

Once you get it exported as a contacts.csv file, you can open it in Excel and sort on any column you like.

From there, hopefully someone else can help further.

As a Leasey user I can confirm this. Pressing alt with the grave accent key works as it should with Leasey running. If you need to type the grave accent symbol itself you can press the Leasey key twice.

Hey Robin,

I don’t actually know the answer to this question, however I have a client who is a reseller and trainer for Leasy, I’ve passed your query on to him. His name is Darrel and you should be hearing from him shortly.

Subject: Leasy Key and Outlook command

Hi,

I was listening to another podcast where Brian Hartgen was talking about Leasy.  So many cool features; I think I’ll order a copy.  One question before I do, though.  Brian talked about the grave accent key being the ‘leasy key”.  In Outlook, I tend to use the Alt grave accent key combination to move focus to the main body of emails and calendar invitations.  Will this be a conflict once I install Leasy?
