Re: Sites Where I can Download Law books Free?

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

How about RFB&D, or whatever they're calling themselves these days.
There's a one-time sign-up fee, but you're probably already a user, so
you'd know about that.

Re: Finding available wifi connections

Steve Matzura

Are you asking how to locate ones geographically, or how to find out
which ones you see on your Wi-Fi cards list of available connections
are open to you? I can answer the second question, but not the first.
If you examine the list of available network names, the ones that
don't say "secure" or use some other word that means secure, like
closed or unavailable, they're useable by you without any special
access information like username or password. Everything else, no go.
I took an inventory of some of the networks I found in my own
apartment building that were open, wrote up a little note to those who
used names I could readily identify or associate with people (like
their name or apartment number), and put a little note under their
door, teling them their networks were unsecured. Two days later, they
were!

Re: CSUN report: JAWS 13 is a mess, wait for JAWS 14

Steve Matzura

That's why there's NVDA, and System Access, and Window-Eyes, and yes,
JAWS, too, so we have choices. Now, if none of those work, well then,
they may have a case, and maybe not. Certain software will probably
never work with any screenreader ever invented because of how it deals
with screens and text displayed upon them. But that's not something a
screenreader is designed to handle, so the suit may very well go the
other way, to the software manufacturer of the inaccessible program.
It wouldn't be a pretty fight, that's all I can say for sure.

Not sure, in the environment in question displays the following under
Software Maintenance Agreement in "About JAWS":

"Authorized using a Network ILM Key"

So, I don't think license issues are in play in the specific setting where
the issue came up. At this point. If NVDA continues to improve, there might
be an intention to stop buying license renewals (or whatever they are called
by FS).

In an education setting, the access compliance process includes a review of
the exposure to liability that the institution might have if an access
product fails to work for a significant number of visually impaired students
with a important application.

In other words, if JAWS does not work for students using SPSS, the
institution begins to get worried that it might get sued by those students
for not providing "reasonable accommodations".

Dani Pagador

Hi, Everyone.
Is there an e-mail list I can sign up for to be able to ask questions about
pairing up an iPhone or iTouch with a braille display?
Thanks,
Dani

Re: Automatically announcement when a person log on to Facebook Chat(using Miranda)

After downloading and installing Miranda from the web address provided in this message, what do I need to do to get it to start working? Whenever I go to the Miranda file and hit the Enter key, the only thing there is "Uninstall Miranda."

Subject: Automatically announcement when a person log on to Facebook Chat(using Miranda)

Hi everyone

I have setup Miranda chat client so I can connect to the chat on Facebook,
because I not longer can access the chat via Facebook website.

In connection with installation of Miranda, I have found and installed a set
of scripts to JAWS, so Miranda should be more accessible, se more here:

http://www.blind-geek-zone.net/data/miranda%20jaws%20scripts%20setup.exe

.

It is possible to adjust Miranda or the set of scripts, so JAWS read when a
person log on to Facebook chat?

I can see that the system tree chordly announce when a person log on,
because the persons name came up, and after that disappear again.

I Using JAWS 12 and 13, and Miranda version 0.9.44.

Very thanks.

Regards,

Anders

What am i doing wrong?

I went to the URL you provided in this message. I downloaded and installed Miranda, but it doesn't seem to be working. What do I need to do after downloading it?
