It works in Outlook 2007 here when using the Jaws command -- Jaws+Shift+R.

Hi, Mike.

When you say "list," do you mean a listserve, such as the one we're
using here? In that case, it depends on the list. As you know, for this
one, control+r sends your reply to everyone. JAWS key+shift+r is
supposed to reply to sender, but I've found that although it worked for
me in Outlook Express, it hasn't in Outlook 2010.

On another list I subscribe to, control+r replies to sender, while
control+shift+r replies to all members.

If you're referring to a message sent to several people but not on a
listserv, control+r replies to sender, while control+shift+r replies to
all. This last is so dangerous that I've never used it!

Re: shrinking white space on a braille display

Lee Maschmeyer

This is strange. I'm testing in Keyboard Manager, pointing it at the default key table.

When the Jaws cursor is active, BrailleToggle8PixelsPerSpace (hereafter called the Toggle script) does collapse and uncollapse the line, so when it says Line Up Text the left-hand column, with the key table names, is next to the righthand column with the keys and assignments. When using the PC cursor there is no movement on the display but this is caused by the Structured Line which defeats the action of the script. When I switch into line mode the Toggle script similarly makes a difference when the PC cursor is active.

Using BrailleSetUnlimitedPixelsPerSpace (the Set script), speech always says Line Up Text. Once this is on it stays on no matter how many times the script is invoked. I'm pretty sure switching tasks turns it off but once it's on again it stays on.

This is using Jaws 14, reading the screen of Keyboard Manager. In line mode it collapses the line with either the Jaws or PC cursor. In Structured Mode, when the display is on the Structured Line it makes no difference when using the PC cursor. When using the Jaws cursor, or when using the PC cursor and the display is not on the Structured Line, it collapses the line but once collapsed the line stays collapsed.

I'm using the braille display from a PAC Mate (not the whole PAC Mate itself). I've changed the left whiz wheel to invoke BraillePriorLine and BrailleNextLine so I can get out of the Structured Line when I want to. With your Focus there may be a way to get out of the Structured Line; if not, you might consider using the Braille Prior and Next Line scripts as getting away from the Structured Line can be a distinct advantage at times.

This is fun! I wonder what can account for the differences the two of us see. Is it Jaws 14 vs. 15?

Have fun,

I just tried this and what it does is reply, in this case, to the list, not
the person sending the message to the list. Hmmm, wonder if there is a way
to do that. I've never found it, not even in XP.

According to Anna Dresner's keystroke list from NBP, the JAWS command is insert-control-r. I don't have Outlook on this computer to test that, but I believe I recall that that didn't work for me.

Re: shrinking white space on a braille display

Hi.
Yes, when I assign a key to
"BrailleSet8PixelsPerSpace" and I press the key that I assigned, speech does
say "as on screen", and On the braille display it shows "show text as on
screen".
I did assign the key using the default table.
No matter how many times I press the key, only the above message is briefly
displayed on the display, then the display goes back to showing me the
original text, with all the original white space.
Now, if I assign a key to
"BrailleSetUnlimitedPixelsPerSpace"
Each time I press the key, it toggles on or off.
I don't know if this makes much of a difference, but I am using this with
the Jaws cursor, and Jaws 15.

Thanks.
Phil

Hi Phil,

I just tried it and it works fine for me. Does speech say "line up text"
(sic) and "as on screen"? Perhaps you assigned the key to one keyboard table

but are testing it with another. You probably want to assign it to the
default table so it'll always be available.

Have fun,

Hi Dennis,

You would have to experiment with it. I only used the turning off Real Time
at shutdown & restarting it after the computer was on, method.
Take care.

would it do the same thing if i set it to just not start up at startup and
then turn the program on when the machine is up and running?

Hi Dennis,

This is a result of a bad MSSE update that can be gotten through automatic
updates or updating MSSE manually. It is effecting different operating
systems randomly & sporadically & the only way to get your computer to
boot
up normally is to turn off Real Time protection right before shutdown &
turning it back on right after starting your computer. Here are the steps
on doing this:

Anyone that is having the same problem as I & a few others with IE, OE,
Jaws, & whatever programs that won't start after a computer startup or
reboot can
do the following: Turn off MSSE's Real Time Protection just before
shutting
down the computer & restarting it right after you start the computer the
next
time. Here is how:

1. Go to your system tray with, Insert + F11.
2. Go to, PC status protected, press enter, & press enter on, Open.
3. Tab to, change my scan schedule link, & press enter.
4. Arrow down to, Real Time protection, tab to, turn on real time
protection
recommended checkbox checked, & press the spacebar to uncheck this box.
Tab
to, save changes button & press the spacebar. You will get a message that
your computer may be at risk but, you can ignore this message.
5. Now, press, Alt + F4, to close MSSE & shut down your computer.

What to do after you restart your computer:
1. Go to your system tray with, Insert + F11.
2. Go to, PC status at risk, press enter, & press enter on, Open.
3. When you press enter on, Open, you will hear, turn on button so, press
the spacebar to turn your real time protection back on & Alt +F4 to close
the
MSSE window.

It would probably be a good idea to run a quick scan after turning your
real
time protection back on.

HTH
Take care.
