JAWS glitch with outlook express

Mario

hi all listers, when in outlook express and I open an email to read it, I
can't select an entire line or word and hear it announced for copying,
moving or deleting. just navigating through the message by word works okay.
I also can't tap the control+home key to zip to the top and review something
in the beginning of a message, although the up arrow works. . Also I can't
press the ESC key to close a message, it keeps saying "virtual cursor".
Loading the default settings doesn't help. I dread performing a JAWS repair.
what do you guys/gals think?

Hi, this sounds like a Googlegroup problem. We have a deaf/blind list on
Google and are having a number of problems with people trying to join but
can't.

Not a good idea to ask someone else to sign you up for user lists, or

using
Windows 7, where this issue arose for the first time for me.

Other posters have said that switching the Win7 desktop to Classic

Re: Taking desktop out of the alt-tab sequence did this a long time ago and don't recall how to do it. I don't want desk top showing up when I alt-tab through open applications.

Adrian Spratt

I take it your question is covered by the subject line. Also, are you using Windows 7, where this issue arose for the first time for me.

Other posters have said that switching the Win7 desktop to Classic stops desktop from showing up in alt-tab sequences.

If you have a backup keyboard lying around, I'd try using it before doing anything radical. If you don't, they're not very expensive.

Subject: Pause Buttons

Hello all.
I have Jaws 14, Windows 7 64 bit, and Jaws has started saying Pause when I hit my insert key, and several of the function keys. Sometimes The correct function is performed and sometimes not. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on, and what I might do to correct this issue?
Thank you for any help, and I would like to say for the most part I find the list informative and educational.
Cheers Kevin

Have you restarted your computer and the problem persists?

If so, You might want to try a JAWS repair.

It might be that your key map is corrupted.

Thank you.

Can you try updating your printer by going to insertf11?

David Ingram

Hi, you should be able to go to insert+f11 and check to see if your printer is listed. If it is, then you should be able to use the applications key so that you can choose what you want to do. See if that would work for you.

can you put the JAWS cursor on one of those buttons? you should be able to
left click it with an actual mouse. be careful not to move the mouse, as the
slightest hint of movement loses it's focus, and then you'll have to start
over.

Heya folks,

Is there a work around to be able to press a button on certain webpages with
Jaws 11? What I mean is some settings e.g my new brother printer Nuance
paper has 3 buttons at the bottom apply, apply to all products or cancel
niether work no matter what I do jaws cursor left mouse simulation on num
pad nothing works, can anyone help to get these buttons to enable/work?

I've also experience some webpages like this too, there must be a
workaround, Jaws 14 demo doesn't seem to do it either.

Regards,

Jim

Apoorv:

Not a good idea to ask someone else to sign you up for user lists, or
anything else, unless you are certain they are trustworty, especially, when
and if the sign up procedure is accessibel using a screen-reader.

Much better you do it yourself. That way, you are the only person, apart
from the list server, who knows your user name and password.

For your own security, you have to be careful of the low life, dirtbags and
scumbags out there today, who are only, too willing, too eager, too capable
of using your personal information to their advantage and certainly not
yours.

HTH

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
