Multi select box

Maria Campbell <lucky1inct@...>

Once upon a time I was able to down arrow through my choices of available radio station categories in ITunes.
Now there is a multi-select box that doesn't work with the down arrow nor with the alt plus down arrow.
Any ideas?

iTunes issue selecting apps

paul lemm

Hi,

I wanted to roll back a program on my iPhone. I've seen there is a method
of doing this using iTunes , you delete the app from your phone and select
apps once your Iphone is connected and then there should be a list where
you can select the previous version and download it to your phone. When I
cycle to this point with jaws 14, it tells me 34 apps and that there is a
treeview of these apps, but jaws doesn't seem to allow me to navigate the
treeview . has anyone else had this issue and found a way around it? I'm
running the latest version of iTunes but it was having the same problem
with the previous version too I even brought blind tunes to see if that
would help but am still having the same issue when using blind tunes too.

Any help would be much appreciated

Paul

Nope, it should work right off the bat with the scripts. If you want to

In the near future we will assess quicken and will do the same for it as we

Do you expect this support to also be included with Quicken out of the box,

This coming from someone that has no idea what he is talking about. We have
intuit support, you don't. Quickbooks 2014 is going to blow the doors off of
any book keeping accounting software. Nuff said... We also have future
support and will eventually be accessible out of the box. Next time you want

Supposedly, this has been in development for more than two years. Since
Quicken and/or QuickBooks basically require annual upgrades, and because of
their highly graphical and inconsistent interface, it's hard to imagine
exactly how scripts for it can be written. On the other hand, Sage
Peachtree Complete Accounting suffers none of these major limitations. You

I worked for an agent of Mass Mutual and had to leave the job as their back office online workbenches were not accessible. I had to stop using zoomtext and start using JAWS as my sight got worse. I sent letters to them about this with NO responses. i was a part time work from home assistant directly for a contracted career agent of an agency of Mass Mutual, so I was 4 times removed from the Mass Mutual. But, I was considered a FINRA regulated Associated Person of Mass Mutual. Anotherwards, as most financial companies operate, they want full authority over everyone and to reap the rewards from all that subconted of subcontracted work without providing employee benefits, pay or having to provide ADA support or considerations as we are not their employees.

System restore and Win 7

Jim L

Heya Folks,

Am running Jaws 15 and windows 7 64bit home, when I scroll thru the list
Jaws doesn't speak the name of the restore point only the date, where NVDA
does, its things like this that annoy me with Jaws sometimes when we spend
good money in purchasing it, secondly I check show more system restore
points but for the life of me besides the 15 or so on the list I can't seem
to go back a few days or even know how to do this with Windows 7 and Jaws,
even the Jaws cursor doesn't help, is there something I'm missing? Any help
will be appreciated

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Examples of inaccessible and accessible web sites?

Adrian Spratt

I'm using JAWS 14 running IE11 on a Win7 PC.

Two areas where you experience difficulties are ones I find a breeze. For me, PayPal couldn't be simpler or faster, and I marvel at the people who designed such a consumer-friendly system. Also, I find Audible completely accessible, including the sales pages.

I do wish Audible used more headings, but my workaround is simple. On a sales page, I do an initial search for "add,' as in "add to cart." Thereafter, each time I've read a title and/or author, I can skip to a point two lines above the next title by pressing F3 for "find again." Arrow down quickly twice and JAWS is speaking that next title.

Sometimes I have problems on websites that other listers praise. Bank of America is an example. Locating a credit card statement requires some thought, and then navigating the statement itself requires more ingenuity, for example, figuring out to search for the number of the month followed by a slash (such as 1/) to reach the list of transactions. Here, a heading would help.

By contrast, every banking and online payment page at Schwab Bank is completely accessible and easy to navigate.

Verizon's "myverizon" website is such a nightmare that I won't go to it even to show just how bad it is!

From browsing and adding things to my cart all the way through the
check-out process, I have found Amazon.com/access to be very
accessible. Google searches are a breeze, and gmail works well as long
as I'm in the right mode ("basic," I think it's called). The Weather
Underground Braille page is refreshingly clutter free compared to some
weather pages I've tried, which makes it very quick and easy to
navigate. I find Audible.com/access screen reader friendly to a
point.* And I almost always get stuck and need sighted assistance to
bail me out of transactions involving PayPal, though I seem to
remember it being fairly accessible years ago when I first established
an account. In my experience, Walmart.com is unwieldy at best, and I
have yet to purchase anything through the site, though I've purchased
many things at the store and prefer shopping online. The website Is
just too time-consuming to navigate with a screen reader, so now I
head for Amazon.com/access. . One of the utility companies I deal with
(WE Energies), used to have a semi-accessible site for paying
bills--until they "upgraded" their website. Ugh. The online bill pay
service through my bank is very screen reader friendly for
companies/bills that I've already added, but adding a bill/company is
a bit of a hastle. Popmoney is frought with hurdles, and generally
requires sighted assistance sooner or later to complete a transaction,
but I still prefer it to PayPal for some odd reason. And Facebook?
Hmmm... That's more than I want to try to put into a nutshell right
now.

*The last time I gave someone an Audible book as a gift, however, it
took me over an hour plus a call to customer service who finally
connected to my computer remotely to complete the process which should
have taken minutes. Happily, once I find the book(s) I want and make
it through the check-out hurdles, downloading is a breeze, although
more headings would make sifting through "my library" easier.
Audible's sale pages are impossible without sighted assistance,
though, and bearish to navigate if it's not the only thing you have to
do in a day.

it through the check-out hurdles, downloading is a breeze, although
more headings would make sifting through "my library" easier.
Audible's sale pages are impossible without sighted assistance,
though, and bearish to navigate if it's not the only thing you have to
do in a day.

Re: QuickBooks

John Martyn <johnrobertmartyn@...>

The project is going to be launched after the R5 update which gives us even
more accessibility than before. We are getting training programs ready to
teach you to use quickbooks how it is supposed to be used. The interface has
undergone much change and the scripts are very minimal. We took great care
in bringing the most powerful small and medium business accounting package
to you. There is a very good reason why it took so long. We are making sure
that the future of the scripts is no longer needed. That's right, accessible
out of the box. As for now what couldn't be fixed on the engineering end is
patched. We have the engineers listening and making changes and the training
programs for you all are free. This includes audio and video demonstrations
on how to accomplish tasks so you can feel more comfortable using the
software. We are in Orlando florida demonstrating the scripts and will be at
the ACB and CSun conferences.
We will announce when it is ready. There is about 40 beta testers on it now
and we're nearly done with the training material. Thanks for being patient
while we make history. For more information, please visit
www.MyBlindSpot.org
Cheers,
John Martyn

Fortunately, after reinstalling iTunes with the 64-bit setup program, it is
working fine with libraries unaffected as far as I can tell.

The next time I get an update notice for iTunes, I'll be waiting a few
days
to see if there's a problem with it before I take the plunge.

This coming from someone that has no idea what he is talking about. We have
intuit support, you don't. Quickbooks 2014 is going to blow the doors off of
any book keeping accounting software. Nuff said... We also have future
support and will eventually be accessible out of the box. Next time you want
to speak, check your facts.

You

Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you use Quickbooks. Can you tell me if it is
accessible with JAWS? If so, do I need a specific version?

Thanks for any assistance,

The numbers I have for Amazon cust serv are:
877.453.4512
246.266.2992
866.216.1072

I've had better experiences with the first two numbers but all three work.

Honestly, I just went to act as if I was buying something, and all my information came up, including my credit card info. The only problem I have is that I can't delete an old credit card and have to add my new one each time. I may have to call customer service about that.

Unless Amazon has changed a lot lately, I've done a lot of shopping
there without any problems.
I've bought CD's, print books, and other merchandise, though I haven't
gotten any audio books.

I use JAWS 13, Windows 7, Office 2010 with IE9.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to download FireFox to see if

Hi all,

I'll be co-presenting next week to a class of students regarding
accessibility of websites and writing for the web.

I'd like to demo some really accessible websites, and some really
inaccessible websites. Can anyone suggest some accessible sites, and
some inaccessible sites with any or all of the following issues.
Unlabelled forms
Unlabelled images
Multiple unlabelled buttons
Pages with links with labels like ""click here"
Pages with Captchas
Pages with very poor visual contrast
Websites that only work in one browser

Thanks for any and all suggestions.
